Long story short, I tried to use my MBP disc to reinstall the OS on my iMac after a crash but it says it cant be installed. Now I cant figure out how to get the install disc out, the eject button just doesn't work. Any ideas?

If that doesn't work, restart the computer and hold down the mouse button until it ejects.

You can also use the terminal, no need to restart.

type in:

drutil eject

or get more specific as to which drive:
drutil eject internal
drutil eject external

This post was in response to a deleted spam post, and it just wouldn't make any sense to anyone if I left it here...

You can also use the command line: if you are a user who is allowed to administer the computer, then launch the Terminal and enter:
> diskutil list
Select the device associated to the DVD: in my case /dev/disk3, only the last number may change; /dev/disk0 is your internal harddrive. Then enter
> sudo diskutil eject /dev/disk[number]
where you need to replace [number] by the number of the device. You have to enter your password and presto, the DVD should be forcefully ejected.
