I converted a video tape to an m4v, and the audio is riddled with very loud pops. I've tried using the "Remove Noise..." and normalization effects in Audacity, but I can't seem to get it to work right. Any audiophiles that wouldn't mind taking a listen to this sample and let me know how I might remove the pops? I know this is a common problem with old VHS tapes, so I'm sure there's a way to clean it up.
Problem solved. Looks like it's just the right channel on the tape's audio that has the distortion. So, I'll just record the left channel and then duplicate it for the right channel.
