So, I'm thumbing through the Feb 2011 HP Business catalog. They always send me one at work. On the cover, they're advertising, "Fully loaded. Only 3 figures. $999." The computer they're selling has the following specs:

2.8 GHz Core i5-760 CPU
Win 7 Professional x64
4 GB DDR3 Memory
22x DVD burner
1 TB HD
Intel GMA Graphics

Am I missing something? Why would any sane person pay this much for that setup? As far as I can tell, they're overcharging by $400+.

Tax write-off on the assets?
Been inclined to wander... off the beaten track.
