Apple quickly sold out of its first stock of white and silver iPad minis, which are now expected to ship in two weeks rather than arriving on November 2 for US customers. The same shipping delay applies to the 16GB, 32GB and 64GB variants, though as of 11:30AM ET, all black and slate variants are still available for on-schedule arrival next Friday.
Reports from other countries suggest both models are sold out and facing a two-week shipping time-frame in all the countries in which the iPad mini is available for pre-order, including Canada and the UK. Retailers and Apple Stores will still have stock of the white model on its debut next Friday, but quantities are likely to be very limited.
Both the black and white variants start at $329 for the 16GB edition, $429 for the 32GB version and $529 for the 64GB model. Stepping up to a cellular-equipped iPad mini adds $130 to the base price, and each of the storage capacities and colors will not ship until mid-November.
