has the quality of apple's dvd player application improved any over the years? i see a lot of people complaining about the video quality around 7 years ago and wished to know if apple ever addressed this and when. thanks.

There was an update at some point around Leopard or SL that improved image quality, but I don't think Apple has touched it since.

The new Mac Pro has up to 30 MB of cache inside the processor itself. That's more than the HD in my first Mac. Somehow I'm still running out of space.

thanks p. i'm using 10.4 on my power pc so when i get a newer machine with snow leopard then it could be better? just the answer i was looking for.

Just googled it a bit. Yes, the Leopard DVD player had an improved upscaling algorithm. I remember it as being a quite big improvement.
