I can never make heads or tails of the ATi readmes. Will the latest update help my Pismo?

It's intended for the retail cards only, not the ones that come pre-installed in Apple computers.

But people do install it on their OEM cards and dont seem to have a problem.

I've installed the ATI June update on my Pismo and notice no real differences. For a check to see if anything has changed, check the versions of the drivers, which are in:

/System/Library/Extensions/

when I "Get Info" on the file ATIRage128.kext, I get "1.1.17" for the version number.

I know that the driver in 10.1.4. is 1.1.15.

Can someone who is running 10.1.5 check the version number and post here, to see if the ATI drivers are any different?

The ATIRage128.kext is version 1.1.16 in Mac OS 10.1.5.

Since the driver is newer, something must have been done... I'm downloading this update - even though my Pismo obviously doesn't have a retail Rage Pro 128 card.

Well, I just installed the update and it works just fine ... not (noticeably) slower, not (noticeably) faster.
