Google search results now warn iOS, Android users about Flash content

Google has implemented a change to the way mobile search results are displayed, warning users if a website uses Adobe Flash. On devices running iOS or Android, results may now show a tag saying "Uses Flash. May not work on your device." Below this are links letting users "try anyway" or learn more about the problem. iOS has never supported Flash, and Android hasn't supported it since v4.1. While the technology is still regularly used in desktop websites, it can be too processor- and memory-intensive for some smartphones and tablets. Flash is also often the target of hackers, and doesn't work well with touch-based controls.
Google instead recommends that developers build websites using HTML5. The company once used Flash for sites such as YouTube, but has since jettisoned the technology.

Well, Google still ships Flash inside Chrome ... so on the desktop they support it and sanction it heavily. In fact, if it wasn't for Chrome, Flash would have been completely dead a few years ago. Google is to blame for all this nonsense.
The more I read about Google these days, they more I'm reminded of the hypocrisy and lies of Microsoft back in the 1990's .... it's just amazing. It's like as if they're exactly following Microsoft's foot steps from two decades ago (most technocrats don't have a memory that stretches back that far, which is why Google is hoping that people don't notice).
