All this "witch-hunt" talk reminds me one of the things I was looking forward to about a Clinton presidency was her getting called "the Wicked Witch of the West Wing".

Junior has been invited to testify in front of the Senate Judiciary. Say they will subpoena if necessary.

He has already said he will testify.
"Mr Chairmen, members of the committee, for all questions, refer to the transcript of my interview on "Hannity" thank you. "

That is genuinely funny.
I suppose if senior got subpoenaed instead of a taped deposition he'd just do the q&a on twitter.

On a serious note I'm curious whether anyone on the committee will be sharp enough to ask about the contents of that phone call that vaguely happens during the email.

Fusion GPS guy got subpoenaed.
Also, Susan Rice spoke with Senate Intel today.
Edit:
Sounds like sober professional interviews before the theater.

Manafort and Junior will not be under oath when interviewed by Senate. I wonder the reason for this.

That's odd. It doesn't leave them free to lie - lying to Congress is a 5-years-in-jail felony. Ask James Clapper, when he gets out. Oh wait, that isn't the best example.

Looks like good news for Kushner. His statement didn't have any big revelations.

"Robert Mueller, the special counsel overseeing the Russia investigation, has impaneled a grand jury in Washington, The Wall Street Journal reported Thursday.
The move means the probe is intensifying and could stretch "for months," according to the newspaper."
Your move, Donald

What I read was that he had a no media agreement and speculation is his release may have not matched his expected testimony.

2017 is something else. The email 'prankster' that conned Kushners lawyer got forwarded a legitimate letter from the senate intelligence committee.
(They're asking if he included his personal emails in documents he gave and asked why he didn't tell them when he visited)

Your example isn't the investigated calling it a witch-hunt, nor a politician doing so.
I'm amused this is the content in the thread that you thought needed addressing, though.

Pick nits all you want.
Nixon isn't the one that said that either according to your headline.

Your implication that Nixon was guilty, and therefore Trump likely is as well since they both called the investigations into them witch hunts? Or was there some other reason you brought up Nixon?

I read the headline as a quote of a term he used. How did you read it?

I brought up Nixon because I saw a parallel. There's been many presidents investigated between Nixon and Trump, but it had to be Trump who cast it as a parallel.

Fun aside... Webster was supposed to be a sitcomification of Karras and Clark's real life. It was created by their own production company.
ABC wanted to wring Emmanuel Lewis dry before he stopped being cute, and they felt the best option was to stick him on the Karras & Clark show.
They loved Emmanuel. They loved the idea of him being on the show. They hated that the show became about him.

I'm more a development historian.
The best example from my archives?
Hunter Thompson's Real Cops, where the cops "beat the shit out of you, steal your drugs, and rape your wife" begat... Nash Bridges.

One more...
Starsky... yeah, that Starsky, is a director now. His wife and daughter die in rapid succession.
In a bid to keep him from spiraling-off into a suicidal depression, a bunch of people go to bat to get him attached to a project.
It's an unusually nice thing for Hollywood to do, and for his part, Starsky views the project as a metaphor for how tragedy (like he was suffering) could be turned into hope. An unusually pure and personal motivation for one to bring to a project.
The result? Kazaam.

https://www.politico.com/story/2017/...44339?lo=ap_f1
Prosecutors convinced a federal judge to require a lawyer for Trump campaign officials Paul Manafort and Rick Gates to testify before the grand jury investigating Russian involvement in the 2016 election, a court ruling unsealed on Monday showed.
New York University law professor Stephen Gillers said the judge was persuaded that there was significant evidence Manafort and Gates had duped their lawyer into sending inaccurate letters to Justice about their lobbying efforts and about what emails might exist about the work.
"Essentially, the judge is saying that it is probable or likely that the clients had a criminal or fraudulent purpose in hiring the lawyer, even if (we would hope) the lawyer did not know it," Gillers told POLITICO.
If I understand this, Mueller got a judge to kill attorney/client privilege because the lawyer was used in furtherance of a crime. That's... a new concept to me.

It's my understanding attorney-client privilege is mooted if they conspired together to break the law. But I don't know the details, like if the lawyer has to know.
Does the article specify that the priv got waived? Perhaps they just required a lawyer to testify, but with priv intact, or just on very specific subjects?
