The only thing they really cared about was tax cuts.
Judging by the ads being run here by the R candidates running for the Senate, it’s the traitorous, flag-hating liberals and RINOs who have stood in the way of Trump’s agenda. They’re all running as the Trumpiest of Trump suporters, vowing to fix Washington and build the wall.
Seriously. The latest batch of ads have them sniping at each other, calling-out the others as not really being Trumpists. Some of them are downright scary.

Things they wanted. Not that they got.
...and they didn't want the tax cuts. It's why they polled so badly.

There was the segment that lost their shit once Trump started putting Goldman Sachs in the WH.

My point is that in this new Trumpian era of politics, you can campaign on things that people only pretend to want. GOP politicians might still be running ads about walls but the people I pick fights with online are over the moon with their extra few hundred bucks a year and aren't bothered enough to complain about a lack of walls.

Think of it as how liberals saw the difference between war in Afghanistan and war in Iraq. Something along those lines.

I see a lot that still want the wall. However if you'd like to see some leaps of logic and faith, ask who is funding it.

Can we take a moment to appreciate that with all the shadiness and conjecture the past year, it was Trump banging a porn star that got his lawyer raided and possibly put damning info about Trump's past misdeeds into the hands of the FBI?
That is so 2018.

I heard that one of Assad's guys is claiming the Russians tipped them off about the raids so they could evacuate their bases. Wouldn't that be treason if it was Trump?

I’m not saying that’s wrong, I’m saying my worldview needs a serious tune-up before that flies.
Christ... it took me less work to come up with “Hitler let Barbarossa drag the Reich down” as the thought process.

No, think of the ability to see a difference between a reaction to a direct threat and a perceived one. If that's limited to liberals, mea cupla.

Either way, it’s such an unprecedented experience I’m not sure it actually even happened.

So could Trump's tweets to his ex-allies be considered witness tampering, particularly when he talks around flipping and pardons?

SDNY has just sent a letter to the judge basically saying “Cohen can’t claim all the stuff we swiped is protected by attorney-client privilege if two-thirds of his clients are publicly insisting he did almost no work”.

TRUMP: When you look at some of the others — you look at like a CNN, they'll have a council of seven people and of the seven people every one of them is against me. I'm saying, where do we — where do they even find these people? I appreciate the —
KILMEADE: I'm not your doctor, Mr. President, but I would — I would recommend you watch less of them.
TRUMP: I don’t watch them at all. I watched last night.

It’s funny... I didn’t even know what a CoS did until Trump. It’s odd to suddenly find out how vital it is to a functioning administration.
I want to cut myself a little slack because I don’t think until now I’ve seen a President so unable to work with an actual command structure below them. I didn’t notice it before because it was working properly.

Um ... praying they won't get ca... nah, too easy.
Perhaps they would get better results if they ended each meeting with a no-twitter vow.

In the nine years before he ran for president, Donald Trump’s company spent more than $400 million in cash on new properties — including 14 transactions paid for in full, without borrowing from banks — during a buying binge that defied real estate industry practices and Trump’s own history as the self-described “King of Debt.”
Trump’s vast outlay of cash, tracked through public records and totaled publicly here for the first time, provides a new window into the president’s private company, which discloses few details about its finances.
It shows that Trump had access to far more cash than previously known, despite his string of commercial bankruptcies and the Great Recession’s hammering of the real estate industry.
Why did the “King of Debt,” as he has called himself in interviews, turn away from that strategy, defying the real estate wisdom that it’s unwise to risk so much of one’s own money in a few projects?
And how did Trump — who had money tied up in golf courses and buildings — raise enough liquid assets to go on this cash buying spree?
From the outside, it is difficult to assess how much cash the Trump Organization has on hand.
That's not shady at all.

President Xi of China, and I, are working together to give massive Chinese phone company, ZTE, a way to get back into business, fast. Too many jobs in China lost. Commerce Department has been instructed to get it done!

During the Cold War, being in bed with the Chinese would be very bad for any political career. I don't miss those days, wondering if some madman will push the button.
However, our current climate with endemic political corruption. It's grating. Really rubs it in how we no longer own our governments.

“Whatever lobbying was done didn’t reach the president,” Giuliani said, offering as proof the fact that AT&T’s proposed merger with Time-Warner has not gone through. “He did drain the swamp ... The president denied the merger. They didn’t get the result they wanted.”
That's... not something you want to admit to, doubly so when AT&T is suing the admin for denying the merger.

President Donald Trump’s attorneys initially wanted him to submit an updated financial disclosure without certifying the information as true, according to correspondence with the Office of Government Ethics.
Attorney Sheri Dillon said she saw no need for Trump to sign his 2016 personal financial disclosure because he is filing voluntarily this year. But OGE director Walter Shaub said his office would only work with Dillon if she agreed to follow the typical process of having Trump make the certification.
Coincidentally, those Stormy payments should have been listed there.

It's also completely unethical (impeachable?). Directing the post office to take an action to hurt s company has to be a big no-no.
Love to hear what conservatives think about it.
