My mother has a Macintosh Classic. We were trying to organize her files into different folders on the hard drive. We made a couple of folders and place her files in those folders. A day or 2 later she tried to open the folder and an error message come up--"Can't open Folder or Disk (-1270" She has important documents in it and I can't figure out what to do. Any suggestions?

Has the icon gone generic? You may try Disk First Aid and norton or some such if it has.

Its corrupted I think... see if you can run DiskWarrior on the Classic... but I doubt that. So Disk First Aid may have to do...

What version of system software is the Classic Running? System 7.0 had some weird problems with files disappearing, and this could be related (if the mac has system 7.0). Otherwise, I don't know what to suggest. However, please reply with the system software, as that is a good place to start.
