i have a UMAX C600 using Kaleidoscope 2.2. It is kinda slow. My disk cache is set to default at >3mb. My dad said to set it lower (128k) but everything else runs slow. Could anybody help me?

KAL slows Macs down, it is not really so noticeable on newer, faster Macs but it slows them too

I'd say your disk cache at 3M is a bit high but if you want try boosting to 4096K or thereabouts (or set it at approx 32K per 1M of installed RAM is the guideline i remember)

lots of people like KAL and have no trouble with it but it can cause any number of odd problems, MacOS Themes are far better for your Mac... faster, stabler
