Hi all
Anybody have any ideas why I can't get video to show up in the Apple Video Player? My mac has a factory video capture card, it used to work on os 8, now it doesn't on os 9.1 The sound comes through OK, but no picture either on composite or S-Video. I get an error which crashes the software when I push "Capture". Help!
Cheers

Well I know it isn't 9.1; it works fine for me (5500/250)... youv'e got all the drivers installed right? Any other drivers that might be conflicting, video wise? PCI cards?

NZ... you a New Zealander eh?
Or is that something else? Hehe. I guess that'd explain if you had a 5500 DE (is yours black?)
Okay... do you have anything installed in the big PCI slot at the back of the system?
With Sherlock, can you check for items with "Apple TV" in their name, and report them back?

Hi again
Thanks for your help.
Yes it's big black and mean. (We call it Darth Vader)
There are no files with Apple TV in the name, and my main PCI slot is empty.
My video card is identified by the profiler as an "ATY" display card. It has composite and S-video inputs and stereo RCA sound inputs as well.
happy new year and we'll see about the cricket!

That's your baby
And the problem - you need the extensions.
My 5500 is currently missing them also; it needs to be restored majorly.
I'm gonna format its drive and reinstall system 7.5.5 - when it reinstalls the video drivers, I can send them to you if you like?
Haha, that game was won fair and square - bad sports always blame the umpire
(kidding )

Many thanks for all your time on this.
It would be cool to get those extensions from you, can I find them somewhere to save you the trouble?
Will the system 7 exts be applicable to OS9?
Best

Uh, I dunno where you'd be able to find them...

I dunno whats wrong with it.
They might on Apples ftp if you don't mind doing a *lot* of digging...
