Hi all,

I've installed Limewire, but can't connect to anything. Whenever I try, I get "Failed to Connect". I have a DSL line and everything else seems to work fine, except for:

Audiogalaxy. I downloaded and installed the 'satellite', but whenever I try to download a song the web site says 'satellite not running'. What gives?

Are there any other apps out there that may actually work for me? I have an iMac DV/SE running OS 8.6 and as previously stated, a DSL line.

Perhaps I'm being punished for my excessive Napstering. Ah, Napster, how we miss thee ...

I'm having the same exact problems with both applications. I connected to Audiogalaxy once, and the download worked, but since then I haven't been able to connect. Or I'll be connected, and the audiogalaxy queue page will say my satellite is not running. Limewire works occaisonally, but it also is increbily slow.

Limewire is a bandwidth hog; it'll use your connection like you are a server as you pass requests back and forward between peers.

DBursey:

I am also on DSL, and have had a lot of trouble with Limewire, both the OSX version, and previously before I upgraded.

I have better luck with Mactella (v1.3) in OS 9.2, hopefully you will too.
If it ain't broke, keep messin' with it
