One thing to remember is that the original Red Alert (which I'm assuming you're talking about) will not run on anything above Win98. So if your VPC is 2k or XP give up right now. It *might* run on WinME.

Westwood has released no patch for the game either.

Yup, have done so. I played Red Alert with VPC 2.13 running Win95, and it seemed to run fine. No marked slowdowns. Even on my PB G3 300, although 192MB RAM helped.

As long as you don't have a version of windows newer than 98, you should be fine (Red Alert isn't supported beyond Win98).

I like playing original Red Alert in network.
But as singer player, I like Red Alert II .
I don't know if I can play it with new powerbook.

I've played red alert 2 with vpc5... runs pretty good in OS9, except the video sequences... to bad they are during gaming...
I didn't even dare to use vpc5 with X... it's running much to slow on my g4 450... maybe it is better on your 933 since this one is really much faster.. but don't be suprised when a 486 would be twice as fast.

cheers

I use VPC 5 on OS X (win 98 SE) it runs fairly well, but not great for a Dual 1Ghz G4. I dont know if it uses both processors in OS9 so I havn't tried to see if there is a speed difference.
