Is anyone else out there having problems using OmniWeb to access eBay. The largest problem is that OmniWeb will not properly display any of the new auction categories, so you can't select a category for your new listing.

A subordinate, though slightly more irritating problem is that eBay consistently crashes sp33 on my machine. During one particularly long eBay session (around an hour), I counted 12 crashes. Most of these occur after clicking on a link to view an auction, although they also happen while signing on. Other times, a crash will happen totally at random.

OmniGroup, is this a known problem with the 4.1 sneakypeeks, or is something wrong with my setup? I am willing to entertain any suggestions or hints. Without at least a basic ability to use eBay, OmniWeb seems severely crippled...

Thanks

It is a very well known issue that the current builds of OmniWeb do not like eBay.
The server made a boo boo. (403)

I spent some time browsing around eBay after reading this, and I can't seem to reproduce this problem. If you have a specific recipe for crashing OmniWeb (i.e. "go to this page, click on this link, click on that link, crash") could you send it to us? And please send a crash report (or several) to [email protected] with a subject line of "eBay crash report".

Thanks!

Regarding the categories, just start creating a new auction and you'll notice that when you get to the auction input screen, the only thing listed in the category window is "--------------" If you click on it, nothing happens. The only way to enter a category is to go to eBay's main category listing page and copy and paste the desired category from there...

As for the crashing, it almost always happens after several minutes of browsing auctions. Try looking at about fifteen or so in succession. At least on my setup, it will almost always crash when selecting another auction after viewing several in a row. The sign up crashes are more elusive. I have gone for days without a sign in crash, then boom, just when I least expect it. I'll try to study these a bit more and see if I notice any specific links or behavior inducing the crash.

BTW, on a good note, I had some WestLaw research to do last night. Earlier version of OW crashed the site like crazy. I'm happy to report that I made it through about three hours of slugging it out with several online databases with no ill side effects.

Cheers

How about this: every time I go to the Apple web site and click a link from the home page Omni crashes ... how ironic.
