So have / do any of you met eachother outside of these forums? Don't know why I'm asking really, but hey... I haven't met anyone who MacNNs, as there are only about four mac users in the UK, and two of them are graphic designers in London somewhere.

Seriously, I only know 3 other people who own macs, and one of these is the guy who runs the Mac room at our school.

Sometimes it gets tough out here defending the Mac. I wish I had a little backup when PC users start saying stupid stuff about Macs

I'm from the UK too

I know plenty of other Mac users, but know at most (that I'm aware of) um, one person IRL (and that'd be my partner who posts here very very occasionally).

Its kinda weird though, out of the four boards that I use frequently, this has to be the one where I don't know people IRL.

Do you mean "know" in the biblical sense? If so, that limits it to Cheerios and Juan Valdes, AFAIK.

I'm the hardest core mac user I know in daily life. But I do know quite a few people that use macs on a regular basis (most of my family on one side, for example).

From the forums I have met:
JuanValdes
Cheerios
AlbertWu
Elzinat

Granted, this was all within a few hours at the last MWSF, but it still counts.

does know count phones? Norms heard me trashed beyond all belief, and chris_h and me wore my phone card out to nothing at one point, I've seen alb for about 3 minutes, before he ran off like a madman, ate lunch and spent an afternoon with Demonhood, met Elzinat, who is MUCH taller than I thought, and had a BRIGHT yellow shirt. this stays with me, for some reason. Elz, i think you traumatized me! I THINK that's it... I've talked to a couple Alnora denizens on the telephone...

ACK!! I forgot John!!! he's moving in with me in a couple weeks, so I guess that counts as knowing him

I did some serious phone tag with a couple of former Mods - Misha and John who found themselves marooned here in Cowtown. I set them up with some braodcasting friends who had a satellite downlink for MacWorld Tokyo a couple of years ago. We kept meaning to get together for a beer and it never happened - mostly because I keep a very screwed up schedule and never know when I'll be free.

They've run off to MacMinute now and I've not heard from them since

What the nerd community most often fail to realize is that all features aren't equal. A well implemented and well integrated feature in a convenient interface is worth way more than the same feature implemented crappy, or accessed through a annoying interface.

I went to school with SeSawaya, but to tell you the truth I don't even remember for sure if he/she is a male or female (one of those names that could go either way).

ROFL!! it was great meeting you guys. I only saw alb for about 45 seconds maybe
It was a great scene: he bounces into the Media Room at the expo, where i'm working with m. I step outside with him to where Juan, Cheerios, and Demon are standing, he asks what time the show floor closes, says "oh **** ," and flys off LOL
it would be inaccurate for me to say that cheerios is much taller than i thought
hehehe I like bright yellow shirts. that pic from the first day [with sean] is probably still around somewhere. Yes, i have enough bright yellow shirts that i wore one every day that week
i don't have any of the hair anymore though

though there exists a picture of me standing next to sean, i didn't actually meet him. m is just really good with photoshop

About an accurate description of Alb... I'm not surprised, though, he talks like that, too. you CUT YOUR HAIR!?!? I'm surprised! Does it feel funny, now? he he... sorry, that's an amusing mental picture. Wow, you never met Sean? That IS a good PS job... I didn't suspect, anyway. (not that that means much ) I'm gonna ignore the crack about my height, except to say that at least I don't ahve to worry about ducking under door frames!

Uh, the one and only guy I've ever met was the owner of MacNN, Indian fellow, I don't remember his name. I was wearing a home-made MacNN t-shirt and admiring the QuickSilver Power Macs at last year's MWNY. And yeah, Sean called me once on the telephone. That's all I have to say.

don't worry, Elz, he's just in denial. alb, the first step to recovery is to admit you have a problem. the caffeine... it's interfering with your life, I KNOW it is!

Nope.

The whole NFL could evaporate tomorrow, and I wouldn't miss it. NBA, NHL, all of it... basically, sports mean nothing to me. That said, I do enjoy a warm summer day at Wrigley Field, but I have no idea who the players are. Well, that Sosa guy would be there, right?
