I'm ex Navy. I was in for 2 yrs "almost" made Petty Officer. But retired as a Fireman.

This thread is for those who wish to proclaim they have served thier country, even other countries (doesn't need to be the USA).

I very proudly served in the US Navy at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda MD. Some of the best years of my life were spent there.

You've probably heard of the U.S.S. Forrestal then Roxie. the first "Super-carrier". Also a staple of Naval firefighting training.

I served my 2 years on that ship before she was de-commsissioned

I freaked-out when I received my orders after boot camp <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

USN, retired after 20 years (now a student on the GI Bill)

USS Skipjack (SSN 585), USS Gurnard (SSN 662), USS Pasadena (SSN 752)
USS Dixon (AS 37), USS Simon Lake (AS 33)
NRD San Francisco (actually in Fresno and Oakland)
(not in that order)

power plant operations and ship repair

I also tried to give presentations explaining how a nuclear power plant works in Northern California (a very "environmentally sensitive" area).
