Anyone know how to set up the Mail.app or WebMail @.mac to save mailbox messages (received, not sent) to my hard drive. I want to keep the .mac mailbox near empty to avoid overflow and keep incoming mail from being bounced away.

Direct responses welcome as well as on this board.

Thanks!

Create a Personal Mailbox (not on the mac.com IMAP server) with whatever name you like. You can then simply drag the message from your mac.com INBOX to your Personal Mailboxe.

Mail.app will copy the message into your Personal Mailbox, which is then saved locally on your machine. You can safely delete the message on the mac.com server.

Thanks alot, Camelot!

Did you sign-up or are you going to sign up for .mac?

What do you think of the idea of adding web based faxing to the service, like eFax? A lot of people need to fax ,but don't want a fax machine.

I have some doubts about email also!

How do I save some of my folders containing email messages?
Is there a way to export all inside MAIL APP folder?
I have som folder with 100 mega of messages!!
Anytime I open MAIL APP or close sometimes it freezes "compacting your mail boxes"...
I want to empty it, but I do not want lo lose my saved messages!

hmm I just noticed I can drag folders from the tray to the desktop... It seems to copy them to that spot, then you open thim in Mail... I dunno if it updates then when the email folders do... or if they are just copies. Also what happens if you dont have that filder in your drawer? omg! I'm cornfused!
