If that were true, they would be openly moving against him.
They have been. #NeverTrump - plug that in over on Twitter.

Cruz and Kasich announced they are engaging in a cease-fire to focus on denying Trump. I don't see how this doesn't feed into everything Trump voters and anti-establishment folk hate about politics. Won't be surprised if this only helps him.
Question I keep forgetting to ask: How is Kasich still in this? Not from a why he hasn't dropped out already angle, but from a how can he afford to still campaign angle. He was almost dead at New Hampshire but he's still going. My best guess is he has some angel donor who hates Trump and Cruz who is funding a barebones campaign, but that's just a wild guess.
Since we are one short on the SCOTUS the Democrats are now screaming Gun Bans/Gun "Control" . Its a shame they have NO CLUE as to what to do.. NONE of the gun free zones or other idiotic nonsense ever worked, but they got that 'feel good moment'.
Now we get to find out what Cruz and Kasich will do.
Will they actually go out and stump for Trump?
Could you believe them?
Will they both become big babies?
In other punditry news, tonight looks to be favorable to both Trump and Hillary, but the real interest is in Indiana next week. Site of possible 'collusion' after tonight it may serve as a bellwether for the #nevertrump movement. Not particularly favorable to Trump, a loss there would pretty much decimate the anti-trumpers.
But relative to what standard? Relative to Trump and Cruz you could say that about a whole swath of past Republican candidates, so that's not really something which singles out Romney. The goalpost has been moved so that even Republican whose ideas match those of Reagan would no longer be electable. (I don't think Romney was a good candidate, he was a punt because people who were serious about the presidency wanted to wait until after Obama's tenure was over.)
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.
Of course the ones that most closely resemble my own beliefs and are willing to work with people on the other side of the aisle. Since I'm not American, though, I don't fit well into the US system.
But what I don't share is the sentiment that I long for someone from the past because he is better than Trump and Cruz are. It just doesn't occur to me.

What happened tonight was that Hillary effectively won, and Bernie conceded that but promised to keep fighting anyway. It is almost mathematically impossible for Bernie to pick up 50% of the delegates now - all that remains is to see if Hillary picks up enough delegates in the rest of the race to win without a single super-delegate.
On the GOP side, Trump did better than expected, but it all hangs on two states now: Indiana next week, and California last of all.
The new Mac Pro has up to 30 MB of cache inside the processor itself. That's more than the HD in my first Mac. Somehow I'm still running out of space.

Name the Republican on the national stage who most closely resembles your own beliefs and are willing to work with people on the other side of the aisle.
For me, not counting Rand Paul, the answers are McCain and Romney.
His answering a foreign policy question about war with a song devalues the gravity of war.
Second, the context was after 8 years of failed Bush administration foreign policy. War was the worst solution to our problems at the time. Staring a war with another Mideast country was adding fuel to a fire America was sick off.

Okay... thank you for the clarification. Now I present the challenge.
I'll certainly grant you it's not the best example of statesmanship, but I think there is little you can take from it as evidence he's genuinely flip about war.
It's very common for military/ex-military people to be flip about these sorts of things. Dark humor serves both as a coping mechanism, and a "thumbing of the nose" to polite society. I'm sure he's much to hawkish for your tastes, but I don't think there's much out there which shows he's truly casual about that.
As for the public's taste for war, I would hope McCain (or anyone else) would put necessity first.
It's still context. He didn't do this at some random pressed as a senator. He did this at a rally as one of the nominees for POTUS. It's a real lack of judgement on multiple levels.
Him being exmitary is irrelevant in the grand scheme.

Poor Christie. "WTF is this fool saying? How did I get here?"

And Trump calling for Bernie to run third party is some more god tier trolling.
It's Trump finally realizing that he can't win the general without some hardcore intervention.

In this case, my philosophy on the subject could be best summed up as, when it comes to Trump, "Never attribute to strategy that which is adequately explained by trolling."

Read and saw a bit on the news regarding the California protests and riots against Trump speaking, and the one thing I noticed, which wasn't mentioned.... is there wasn't a single American flag in sight.

They're cultural Marxists, the US flag isn't something they have much affection for.

I'm glad there's no racism going on at the anti-Trump rallies in California...
