So what did you guys choose on the last mission?
Revenge or Money? For every other decision, I just made one and lived with it... for this one I made 2 different saves to see both outcomes.
I think it'd be interesting to start a thread seeing the various choices people made (i.e. Derrick or Francis, Playboy or Dwyane, etc.) and see how the story varies. I may make one later (unless someone beats me to it), but right now I'm off to go take the money this time (already killed Dimitri in my last save!).

Final Mission Spoiler:
I decided to kill Dimitri and take revenge, i don't need the money i already had over 500k with all the side missions i did so i felt revenge was a better choice. I also killed Dwayne when given the choice.

End game spoiler (and a spoiler in a spoiler...)
I choose the money. I figured that I liked roman more then Kate so I took his advice. Bad choice, ha. Additional spoilers below for people who choose revenge...
When Roman got shot and killed, I was like... what the hell, I've been shot thousands of time. Walk it off wuss. At any rate, I found the ending to be somewhat anti-climatic, yet somehow kind of fitting. I liked how Darko ended up being a total loser. I was really expecting him to be this big badass guy. I was glad when they spun it the way they did.
I have a save I can go back to to see the other ending, I'm going to try that tonight.
I choose to kill Dwayne, Francis, and then to let darko live and to do the deal. What happens if you kill Darko? Does it change anything???

I'm still loving the side stuff. The main missions are usually more cut and dry and repetitive.

So.. after they hype is down and most are close to done or done, do you still think it deserves the 10 it was given by IGN?

Well, first of all, I think IGN's 100 point review scale is ridiculous. How can you really rank things like that?
"Well, I kept going back and forth between an 8.4 and an 8.5, but after considering some of the aliasing problems, I decided that an 8.4 was the best I could do..."
It's just dumb.
At any rate, I guess the question is, do I think GTA4 is the best game since Ocarina of Time? I would say a big no to that one. But I do think that GTA4 is a very special game. A real landmark title.
I would give it a 10 on a 10 point scale, but I think lots of games deserve that score. Review scores are dumb anyway.

I'd give it a 9.5 or higher, so I don't think the 10 is too far of a stretch.

So something I think they should add in to the game in a future expansion or whatever is, of course, the Cash Cab! They should make it so when you get in a cab there is a chance that its the Cash Cab (renamed of course), and you get to play a trivia game on your way to your destination and can win cash. I take a lot of cabs, so this would appeal to me.
They also need skateboards. I ran across a real sweet skate park but no board to shred with. It would be great if there were some skate kids there, bustin moves and such, and you could either skate around alone or challenge them to a competition and win or lose some money. Or just make it so you can pull off some challenging moves for achievements or something.
This game has almost endless possibilities for expansions. The groundwork that Rockstar has laid is nothing short of incredible.

Having grown up in Manhattan, and had lived in Brooklyn as well, I've been enjoying driving around Rockstar's virtual version of my old stomping grounds. It's funny how "compressed" the city is. I probably have a harder time driving around Algonquin than others, because the landmarks are near to, but not at their locations in the real world. Radio City is on the wrong side of the street (messes my North / south up majorly), and racing uptown from Times Square, when I feel I have reached the upper west side, I'm already at the north end of the island. But the important thing is that it still feels like Manhattan, which is pretty amazing. I haven't unlocked Jersey yet (where I live now), but I can already imagine what it is like.
Right now, I'm hunting pigeons (done 13 or so),and what is nice is that it allows me to slow down and really explore some areas in detail.

I've visited NYC a few times, and at one point I realized that I had visited Rockafeller center a few times and hadn't known it.
At least the Met was easy enough, though MOMA is missing too.

Oh geez, what a question.
In concept and execution: Portal, but it's too short to consider
In overall detail and story: Half Life 2
In sheer awesomeness: Halo Combat Evolved
Of course Ocarina had all of those.
I agree that the original Metroid Prime is a spectacular game, I never beat it though...

I'm so annoyed. I've been trying to do this last mission for about an hour now... over and over and over again.... I keep screwing up in the most ridiculous and foolish ways. I've done it so many times that I've grown completely impatient and keep making mistakes.

I JUST got over that phase (started it earlier today and just got so frustrated that I turned it off)... but luckily I just beat it. Phew. Got the complete story achievement!
Now that the story's done, I've got time for all of the side missions and stuff I've skipped over, and I'll finally be able to sink my teeth into multi-player!

Spoilers for both endings...
Just for the record, the DEAL ending is much much easier. Or at least, it seemed that way to me. It took me a long time to figure out exactly what to do with the bike and the jump. I also found the deal ending to be a little more dramatic and to provide better closure overall. Ending the game by killing Jimmy because of Kate doesn't have the same weight as killing the double-double crossing Dimitri over Roman and having Kate hate you anyway. It was very bittersweet and more tragic overall.

They should give you an achievment for sitting through the credits. holy crap, more people worked on this the Lord of the Rings, or whatever. I think they are seriously 15 minutes long.
It does help put some perspective on how much work really goes into something like this.

It was perfect a decade ago, but probably wouldn't have the same effect if you first approached it today.
So many other games have built on and perfected things that they did in that game, it's no longer the life-changing experience that it once was.

Which one were you talking about when you were first having the trouble, the Revenge or the Deal? Cause I did revenge first, and had a little trouble with that, but was able to beat it after not too long...
But when I went back to do the deal, I can get through the warehouse with Phil but I ALWAYS end up ****ing it up chasing the truck. I just cant do that part and its pissing me off sooooooo bad.
I agree with what you're saying about the endings; the revenge one seemed a little to forced... I'll have to wait and see the Deal ending for myself though before I can pass judgement.

Ok, and I may be retarded, but: I have not found 1 pigeon yet.
I'm assuming I'm just seeing them, not recognizing them, and just walking by them? I've played for hours and hours on this game (haven't looked at a guide) and I do not recall seeing one anywhere. I haven't really been looking for them, but now that I'm done with the game I may start looking, and hopefully be able to see even one!

...I'm not sure what you're asking? Only the xbox 360 has achievements, not PS3--- it has nothing to do with the game, it's just an xbox vs. PS3 thing.

You're not retarded, they are not very easy to find. The first one I found was pretty much given to me by a mission. I believe it was a mission you do for Little Jacob where you are delivering packages to drug dealers. Something like the 3rd one of those you deliver to a dude underneath an overpass. The camera was positioned in a way that shows the pigeon in the foreground.
After that I just get lucky and happen to see one as I'm running by.

BTW, Dwayne is a bigger pain in the ass than Roman. And depressing as hell. I can't remember the last tie I wanted to slit my wrists after eating pizza with someone.

Yeah, that's the sad part... just beat it yesterday and didn't get one pigeon from the missions. I'm sure they were there, I just wasn't really looking...

Speaking of pigeons, I found one today I must have passed a million times on the bridges. Charge Island to Dukes (Hint).
Speaking of islands, am I the only person who hates Bohan? If it weren't for missions, I would never bother with the place.

100.00% Game Progress
I still cannot enter the 100% Club on the Rockstar Social club, it says it may take up to 48 hours to register status. I'll let you all know what secrets are inside.... and we'll see what all this "key to the city" business is.

So far I've been finding all of the missions people call hard (like the bank and museum missions) a walk in the park. But I'm getting stuck on these stupid repetitive missions that should be easy. Ugh.
Right now I'm stuck on the "Tunnel of Death" mission. I can't shake the cops for the life of me, and Kiki won't help.
