I drove into Algonquin to lose the cops.

Edit; Sorry I ditched you sek, but they suddenly choose this time to start construction right outside my apartment. I can't even hear the TV.

Its alright. I was able to finish delivering packages for Jacob, found two more pigeons, three more stunt jumps, and finished the rest of the races. I just need to do them all over again for the achievement. The last race was North Alderney against trucks and I was in a Turismo, lol, easy win.

Race win percentage: 100%....not a single loss.

Also had a chance today to chopper to the Statue of Happiness and see the large chained beating heart. It was more bizzare than I imagined.

so i attempted to get in on some multi tonight until i sat down to play and my 360 won't play any discs. Each disc i put in the drive it gives me the "unable to read disc" message. After going though my entire library of games i'm a little stuck. F***

I hope you got some kind of replacement plan so you don't have to send it in to MS to get fixed.

Plus, you'll need to have the RRoD in order to get it fixed under the MS warranty.

That's why I bought my system from Costco. If anything happens to it at any time I can return it, no questions asked.

All glory to the hypnotoad.

thats why I bought accidental insurance for all electrical items. Anything happens I just drop it down the stairs and buy a new one, and claim the money back.

It was 60 dollars at the time of purchase. However, this last time I was able to extend the replacement plan for another two years for 7 dollars.

Totally worth it IMO.

So.... let's see where I am after the weekend:

• As promised I went achievement crazy, acquiring Man Hunt, Half Mil, Genetically Superior, Assassin's Greed and You Got The Message, as well as grabbing Gracefully Taken as a bonus for my storyline work.

• You can't take a date to the carwash, you cheap bastard. WHile we're at it, it won't let me take a bike through, either.

• The Futo is a deceptively good car. It rips.

• Nothing is more anti-climactic than a Faggio police chase. At lower levels, though, it's more useful for losing the cops, I find.

• Speaking of Faggios, I completed Bernie's missions. He was a little annoying, but I don't see how he's offensive. He's no worse a caricature then the violent Irish drunks, or the slang laden, cookie-cutter Mobsters or the baked rastafarians. And yes, his running is hilarious.

• Up to 33 stunt jumps completed, not expecting to find more than 1 or 2 more. Up to 31 pigeons found, including one by complete accident that I heard when I was refusing to drive until a taxi that had hit my bumper backed up.

• Interesting glitch I think I found - get a wanted rating under 3 stars, preferably 1. Drive to one of the tolls and blast through without paying. I swear I've done that twice and it cancels out the star.

• Coolest things I saw this weekend: A dude wreck in his car so hard he got thrown into the opposing lane on a bridge; fighting at one of the industrial sites in Alderney, a guy shot one of the pipes, causing a flame to shoot out and engulf him and his dead bodyguard... finishing the mission for me.

• Moded car types I think I've seen so far: Sentinel, Blista, Sultan... what else am I forgetting?

• I now stand at just over 80% complete.

Modded cars - Dukes, Sabre GT, PCJ600 ( one with a GSXR look and another with the Buell look)
- if you count convertible and non - i think just banshee & Feltzer

also about the flaming kill, i shot that and killed myself in a mission while chasing some guy up an industrial site i caught on fire after using free aim to give him a head shot (and missed)...

other news: i have a working 360 again, i guess its not what you know, but who you know.

Forgot about the muscle cars. I don't count the convertibles.

I noticed the differing body types on the PCJ, but I never equated it with differing performance.
I also heard there are two NRGs as well.

Has anyone used Dwayne's special ability?

I've tried to be clever and call cops into a few situations lately, but the game has been screwing me over and saying they are unavailable. Bastards.

I used his ability for the museum mission but they didn't do much. In fact, one got in my way when I was shooting at someone else and I hit him right in the head. He didn't die, though.

Not surprising. At least they seem to have accounted for bad AI (I believe I accidentally shot Packie in the back of the head on one of the mission with no ill effect).

Something about the museum mission made me think it was supposed to be awesomer than it turned out. I seem to remember someone commenting in an article about the breakable vases being these just for the awesome shootouts.

Speaking of shootouts, I think I'll be making a couple of Tony Montana-like last stands this week. I'll tell you guys if I find any particularly good spots to hole up in.

Quite. This was one of the ones I was most interested to see. My exploring by bike has brought the average down some, but not a full 2 MPH.

Why should you have to use cover with accuracy like that?

I have no idea why, but yesterday morning my Social Club stats were there and now everything is listed at 0.

Some updated Marathon Stats,

I can finally access the "story complete" section of the social club although i cannot enter the 100% club yet, i read about a lot of other people not being able to get into the 100% but many have emailed the social club and have gotten responses that they would soon be able to and they would still be entered for the "key to the city" (as rockstar can see the stats although there not uploaded onto the page)

I have 25% on several of those, but before it went blank, none were listed higher than 17%.

Not that i didn't appreciate it before, but all hail bungie.

And I can't wait until they start tracking multi stats. I assume its not up because they can't handle load, rather than other issues.

God question. It must. It must also count cutscenes as they initiate, rather than conclude, because who the hell watches them all the way through a second time?

After a few more people post, I'll make a leaderboard for the stats people really dominated in (i.e. Brandon for bullets fired, kb for money spent on healthcare, sek and his freefall...)

For the ones that listed a street and area I would use the map included with the game and set a course for about where I thought it was. For the cars that were ill explained and poorly photographed I cheated, which was very easy using the Taxi. Is till have 10 cars left to steal at this point.

The funny thing is that sometimes I make 3-4 trips to a pay n' spray because certain cars get into trouble quickly.

Well, I was cheating to find some pigeons with the chopper yesterday, and just flying around to the tallest buildings just for shits and giggles. I landed on the GetaLife building and searched around only to discover that I couldn't get back to my chopper. Dammit. So I hopped down onto the letters and looked around a bit and then decided to plummet to my death. I fell for a good 4 seconds and landed on a pitched green roof and only lost about 1/2 of my health.....weird. I was amazed, I've died from heights 1/10 the height of that before. Now being really close to ground I hopped down again and smacked the ground. I had a sliver of life left when i slid into a wall after landing and completely died.

You suck. Man, I thought that was half the fun. Admittedly they misdirected me on two (Near Castle Gardens meant not in Castle Gardens; The "old burger shot meant one that was closed down and not listed on your map), but I only cheated on the second after exhausting all viable options.

Personally, I thought it would have been nice if they gave you the option to pick up the same type of vehicle if you saw it anywhere else. That way you had one guaranteed option if you ran into a drought. Nothing used to amuse me more in old games than causing a traffic jam as I ditch a car because I saw a Manana drive by, and I needed it. (It's also lame how I can't spawn cars I've returned like in past games).

So close. I won't even use a cheat code until I finish the game. I may try to finish out jumps by checking a map (now at 37 completed), but I don't think I'll ever bother with the pigeons.

My Social Club stats are borked too. Maybe its because of the 100% Club entries closing on the 19th and this got knocked out too in the shutdown??

It'll be much easier if you just comply.

there was a few of stevie's cars that were pretty vague on the description and took me a while (the one by the shut down burger shot for example) but taxi was helpful there. I still have a big 0 in the cheat row but i used the hell out of the guide for pigeons (video/map on GTA IV wiki). Dakar having 37 jumps is commendable for sure, right around there i had to use the guide to find some WEIRD ones..

kb, I'm insanely jealous of your stunts progress.

Edit: So activities isn't borked? What the hell do you have to do to get that stat up? I've done tons of dates. It should be well over 10% by my count.

I didn't say there was a limit, I was saying that the 100% Club finished yesterday, and now its finished the Marathon stats are zeroed. The 100% Club entires being closed could have inadvertently killed the Marathon stats page, as it looks like both happened at the same time (maybe).

It'll be much easier if you just comply.

Just to be clear I didn't enter in any cheats, I was simply using the map Dakar linked to in the 5th page of this thread.

I can't wait till after I beat the game to enter in tons of cheats and paint the town red.....with blood!

I hear that.

I really wish there were a couple of other online modes. I'd love to see a competition to see who can cap more civilians in a certain amount of time, or outlast another team against the cops at 4 stars, or a race to 6 stars.

Also, I'm peeved they don't allow cheat codes in free mode. Seems reasonable to want to spawn some cars and call 911 just screwing around.

When I get home in an hour and a half my friend and I will be doing some mayhem on free mode. We may also be trying a few tricks out, like jumping a bike into the empty spot on a helicopter, and doing a head on crash using the length of middle park to get some speed.

I was wondering the same thing.

There should be a ranked mode in which the person who created the most carnage wins. Civilian deaths, wrecked cars, cops killed, etc...

Perhaps I'm reading into things, but they seem to be avoiding anything that could be construed as picking on civilians or cops.

The good news is I see no reason why they couldn't add new games in the future.

And fix the ****ing lobby.

So with Stevie, do you need to bring the car to a certain place after you steal it? I got the first message from him, grabbed the car and didn't know what to do with it. Ended up doing other things, and have yet to get another message from him. I'm assuming I did something wrong.

Also, is it true that if you decided to kill Dwayne you can't get to 100%?

There is a garage next to your safehouse in Bohan. Take the cars there.

And you can still get 100% if you kill Dwayne from what I understand, you just don't get his cool (useless) ability or Playboy's badass house.

All glory to the hypnotoad.

On your map, turn on the legend and you'll see a garage icon (looks like car wash without vertical bars on the sides.. It's in south Bohan, a few blocks from your safehouse.

On the other point, I killed someone and noticed their mission progress was listed as less than 100%. However, later when I checked, it corrected to 100%.

Now post some numbers, bitch.

You also won't be able to hear his depressing conversations or self-loathing either.

The extra safehouse is excellent for car collectors like me, though.

Or blame his father for everything.

How ridiculous is it that the safehouse doesn't have a laptop, though?

As I hit 'B' to exit the web I usually end up punching the guards computer off his desk. Hilarious reactions ensue.

Can't beat that huge TV either.

Ahhh nice! I now have something else to spend my time on while I procrastinate on beating the game.

I plan on doing so tonight. I assume you guys are just typing all that in, and not getting it from some site?

Rockstar seriously needs to talk with Bungie about 2 things. #1-How to implement in-game recording, and #2-How to have a site with sweet ass stats that is updated almost immediately. This game is sorely lacking both of those things.

Yep, those posts were hand-crafted with care in the USA.

and I agree, this really makes you appreciate how Bungie worked out one hell of a system.

I'd probably be at 20% right now if there was a theater feature.....just imagine GTA panoramas....
