It's either BO or MW2, I've written off the Halo series at this point.
Plus I have actually, and miraculously, had better things to do then play video games lately.

Right. Doesn't incessant coverage of how ****ed up your latest patch continues to be hurt your pride as well?

It's weird, I loathe EPIC for their GoW2 roll out, but if there's on thing that can't be ignored was that they were apologetic, attentive, and hard working on the updates. Yeah, they shouldn't have put their players in that situation, but at least they had the least offensive response possible.

Naaa, I'll get over it (if it works). There is a big difference between pride and frustration. The game is broken, no opinion or rumor about that. I just want the damn thing to stay connected while I play. I honestly don't think that is too much to ask for.

It's certainly different for PS3 peeps. It's no games and no glitches or games with glitches

Well, we had our first official run-in with an aim-botter this weekend. Amazing, considering MW2 was supposedly the more hacked counterpart.

Attention K-Mart shoppers, attention...
Call of Duty: Black Ops is on sale for $47.99 and with it comes a free 1600 M$ points card.
Double XP weekend from Feb 4th to 6th.
They're really trying to promote First Strike.

You would know that I'd be busy from 7-10 pm on Friday and Saturday nights on a double XP weekend.
Looks like some 5-Hour Energy nights are in store. I'm staying up til 4-ish on Fri. night / Sat. morning.

I've watched Kawloon and Discovery gameplay and so far I'm slightly impressed.
Forums are calling Stadium worse than Nuketown, however.

My brother-in-law cornered me after staff meeting this morning and told me he downloaded the map pack an hour before coming to the office. He played through the four on Combat Training, and apparently is in love with all four of them.
He seems slightly iffy on Berlin Wall though.

Does "worse" mean it'll get 90% of votes too?

Probably. The kids who play this game seem to love absolute chaos. Probably because they are completely ineffectual against any kind of organized resistance, judging from our tendency to get crushing victories.
Berlin Wall looks like the swing vote. If it's a good team play (and camping) map, that may be enough to goad me.

I'm about to head home for a quick lunch break, download them, and hopefully run through one or two maps to get a quick lookie.
A few notes on my current perks of choice:
- I really don't know how I feel about Hardline. It's tough going without Scavenger or Ghost, but I'm making myself stick with it to get a different experience. My teammates definitely appreciate the constant Spy Planes.
- Hardened is garbage. I switched almost immediately to Sleight of Hand.
- I'm in love with Hacker. Seeing a claymore around a corner not only saves you a death, but often results in a ricochet grenade kill, since the one who planted the claymore is usually nearby. It is crazy how loud your footsteps are without Ninja, though (this is the first time I've switched from it since owning the game).

I don't know if Hardened is garbage, but I imagine it's mostly redundant thanks to the paper maché walls in this game.
And no one hears your footsteps better than you, not even ninja pro users.

People are amazing.
With the new kill system for who gets credit for Second Chance kills, you can kill your teammate in Second Chance with no penalty since the game only counts it as an assist!
Together we can purge SC users form hardcore by simply team killing away your teammates desire to use the perk.

I don't know if it was a higher caliber of players on yesterday, or my sleepiness, but I got dickslapped up and down the new maps...and even the old ones all day yesterday.
Kowloon is a really cool map, definitely the best of the bunch. Stadium has yet to impress me in any way. Haven't formed any opinions on the other maps yet.

Heh, this is the most lackadaisical reaction to a map pack I can remember. saint is the only one who has had an opinion which was Discovery is the new Launch. Otherwise, no comment on the other stuff yet.

Discovery is in no way as worse as Launch. Stadium is very similar to the furious pace of Nuketown though.

I think the most surprising thing about Stadium is that for a map pre-release shots showcased the interior arena of, most of it is unplayable.

Played Discovery 5 times in a fookin row. I hate that map.
Played 1 game on Stadium, enjoyed it, and a bit of a game on Kowloon. No opinion yet.
Lag was terrible, really really terrible. 30,000 people playing and I can't get a three bar game? FFS.

As I've been crazy-busy for the past few days, I've only been able to hop on once, and Stadium was the only one of the maps that I was able to play. I got slaughtered on it for the first half of the match, and gradually worked my way into a comeback of sorts. It took a while to get a grasp of the layout. It didn't seem at all symmetrical, so I basically just ran around aimlessly.
I'll probably start a private match with someone and roam around the rest of them so that I don't experience that again.

Launch is basically summit, only the entire middle is open and elevated, giving incredibly long sight lines.

Launch is my least favorite CoD map of all time. It's big, flat, and pointless.

Sorry, pointless goes to Shipment in CoD4, closely followed by Rust in MW2. Try harder.
For objective based games Launch is pretty good, but I'll admit that for TDM it can be iffy.

I'd play nothing but Rust if I could never set a virtual foot in Launch again. Not familiar with Shipment, never played CoD4.

Shipment is the only map more ridiculous than Nuketown. DOn't think it was in TDM rotation, but Bogues managed to guide me through a game of Headquarters on it and it was bedlam.

I freaking hate martyrdom. Very glad it's not in Black Ops. There was a similar "perk" in Uncharted 2 that nearly everyone ran for about a two week period before losing interest.
