Oh, bollocks. Draught is the ONLY way to drink Guinness.

I never used to like beer much, being a prissy fag and all (nah just kidding...well the prissy part anyway) but since work have been buying it every thursday night and well...I've kinda of taking a liking to it. Even crave it at times

But anyway, could another aussie here please explain the fosters situation? Apparently it's simply AWFUL but I've never even seen it here, let alone seen anybody drinking it. Why is it the australian beer then?

You can't eat all those hamburgers, you hear me you ridiculous man?

The Fosters situation is this:

It's an export beer, and a **** one at that. The only places in Australia you'll find it at are airport pubs (probably), and city hotel minifridges.

Due to excellent marketting, the rest of the world synonomises Australian beer with Fosters. Given the pre-existing synonimity of Australia with beer... need I say more?

I don't know how it's stayed this way so long, but it doesn't matter. This is all that's important:

Fosters is ****, and Australian's do not drink it. Don't be fooled by ads or movies.

I remember seeing a family of tourists sitting on the beach at Manly (South Steyne). The "dad and uncle", I'm assuming, had an esky full of Fosters. Oh, if they only knew... they must've got it from the airport bottle shop, because nowhere else around would even think about stocking a case of Fosters.

More appropriately, I remember my formal night 3 years ago; after my date and I, and a few friends, got up to our hotel room, we checked out the minifridge to see what they had (no, we weren't gonna pay their ridiculous prices - just restock it in the morning from a bottle-o!). A bunch of Fosters, and a Crown Lager. Sorry darling, Fosters for you...

Once again the scaught speaks sooth. Micro-brewery beers are where it's at.

I do like a nice, cold, well-poured Guinness or three though.

I think i would rather drink nothing than drink Fosters. Their commercials should be Fosters, Austrailian for Crap.
