Well, in any case, I'm still not interested in buying a PSP.
Now where's that widescreen iPod that handles 640x480 H.264?

IMHO, something like this wouldn't fly in many places in the US [I'd give it about 15 minutes in NE DC. I don't think it's being hypersensitive.
Yes, it's marketing... and it seems to be working... I just thought Sony wouldn't use such a controversial marketing scheme. I was considering picking one up, but I need to rethink that.

There have been white PSPs in Japan long before the white DS's were even conceived.

Ya it is a bit iffy for sure. Isn't it done by the same company that does Apple ads?

Well, having read the thread thoroughly, I would have to say that the point of this thread is not that there are white PSPs, but that Sony has an ad campaign that some people are finding offensive when taken out of context. Hope that helps you figure this out.

I can understand how in other parts of the world it wouldn't be seen this way though. The west is just a bit more sensitive to this sort of thing because of the whole slavery and human rights thang.

Another question...
Why are their products fighting? The money ends up in the same place.

Didn't PSP television commercials focus on things like Mexican accents?

Yeah, I remember commenting to one of my friends that it was strange that the 'dirtballs' in the PSP commercials had mexican accents.
