dude, **** off... Radiohead is NOT the suckiest band in the world. Making such a foolish comment could get you hurt.
When was the last time Justin, Britney, Jessica, Christina, Anastacia, Beyonce, or any of the shitty pop being spewed achieved a critically acclaimed award winning album.
In defense of Radiohead, here's theirs:

If you consider Creed "alternative music", then you've got a problem. They were about one of the most mainstream bands I've ever heard.
My own list of terrible bands (past and present):
Creed, obviously
Dave Matthews Band
Kid Rock
Linkin Park
Disturbed
Staind
Yes
Emerson, Lake and Palmer
Hole
Godsmack
Tori Amos
Slipknot
Counting Crows
Black Crowes
And so, so many others.

I dig some Dave Matthews.
I also dig Slipknot. Their latest album is all right. I prefer the first two. Very ... percussive.
The rest of that stuff you listedI'm inclined top agree. It doesn't do anything for me.

There's also a whole truckload of worthless country acts: Tim McGraw, George Strait, Shania Twain, Alan Jackson, etc.

I meant band/musical artist, obviously. Tori Amos is terrible. Pretending to be crazy to sell records is a little too much for me.
I have no idea who those bands are.

Pretending to be crazy? Hardly... She just has very odd ways of expressing herself when it comes to her songs and her inspiration. When she's not talking about her own music or where she gets the inspiration for it, she's quite normal.
Actually, one of the reasons I like Tori Amos is the same reason that I like for instance Enya: That they sell their albums based on the music, not based on their image. Tori might not be as much of a recluse as Enya, but she's still just Tori, a (more or less) ordinary woman, not some hyped-up star on a pedestal pretending to be someone she's not.
Edit: And I like Tori's version of Smells like Teen Spirit. Not as much as the original, but it's still an interesting cover version.
I have no idea who those bands are.
Of course you don't. No one outside Denmark does (I hope). Be glad.

Linkin Parks lyrics are amazing. Better than all of these bands with lyrics that need to be deciphered to understand their meaning, if they even have one.

But anyway, I've been called 'slim' since my teens when I started growing taller and lankier than my extended family. That's where my nickname started. I would ask, but I kinda get where the nickname 'Steve' comes from.

Which sig? I have quite a few in rotation.
I never, ever thought I would see "amazing lyrics" and "Linkin Park" in the same sentence. Lord no! That's pretty much the worst part for me, their angst-ridden whiney lyrics, combined with the guy's "singing"and the rapper that jumps in every now and then doesn't help. The song writing in general just bores me. But I can see how it can be for some folksI just don't dig it. I'm not talking ****; just offering up my opinion on the guys.

I was referring to the radio-buttoned 'conscientious objector' vs. 'billion-dollar murderer'. I didn't notice that you had them on rotation, but nice collection. They're quite creative.
As for Linkin Park, they do create good angry mood music for those times when you're coding CSS and finding out all the incompatibilities on Windows... just start spinning Linkin Park and those box-model hacks don't seem like such a problem.

I've found Tool to be great icon-making music.
Also, I suggest checking out " The Julius Airwave," an Orlando band. I don't think they're on iTunesthey're pretty unknown. They write great simple music, though. "Dragons Are The New Pink" is their only album, as far as I know.

No, the Black Crowes were a subpar Rolling Stones tribute act.

encore! I can listen to any of their song over and over again w/o getting sick of it.
I did buy the Creed's Human Clay album back in 1999 or 2000. They were great at that time and their music video too.

Didn't BC slam JI for the breakup recently??? Not sure if this makes for a good reunion.
Pearl Jam definitely lost the post, as well as Metallica. I have all their albums but now I am wishing they either find what that had or give up, because all they are doing is wrecking thier name.
for Tool and Radiohead

I love the people that basically say "all popular music sucks" and "[insert obscure local band] rocks 100X more then [insert popular band]"
While I realize there is a ton of crap music out there, I see some great popular music, and some great local stuff. People that use words like ALL are usually wrong. As in "ALL punk music stinks".
I guess I can just appreciate most types of music and don't hate any types of music. I will say that I don't care for "hate based" music which seems to be making a comeback.

I dont know about that, I'm a bit more old school, but Living Sacrifice was an awesome "religious rock band." Their style wasn't mainstream at all, but the guys were great especially in concert (that's also the guitarist in me talking). Of course, if you don't like their style (hardcore metal), you'll hate them. Here are some of my favs from their last 3 albums:
No Longer
Local Vengeance Killing
Symbiotic

Bahaha.
Creed is alternative? Okay.
But... it turned you off "alternative" music? When alterntive is 'alternative' to... what?
So, one thing turned you off everything 'alternative'? Your logic defies logic.

The user "SlimShady" naming great performers, for one thing.
Dave Matthews, Linkin Park, Blink 182, and Fiona ****ing Apple being another thing entirely. Goddamn, that's just whacked.
As for the Pumpkins - they rock. They should not get back together, though. No band should once broken up.

I wouldn't go as far as saying that Blink 182 made good music (although I don't think it was that bad either), but they were good performers. Their goal was to take the piss out of themselves and their own music, and they did. And it was funny - for a while. Also, they seemed to know when to quit - or am I the only one who hasn't heard anything from them since... well, since five minutes after their third single or something?

Yes, he did. In fact, he blamed the entire Pumpkins breakup on James. He said that he wanted to stay together but other 'factions' of the band wanted to rip the band apart.

Genesis wasn't a sucky bad, certainly not as sucky as others on that list. Now Phil Collins solo is a crime against all that is decent in this world, especially lately as he sinks further into wishy washy Adult Contemporary purgatory.
