i'd go honda - i have a civic & love it. i also drive a ford escort for work, it works just fine. but in your situation i'd go with the accord.

Just an update: I purchased a Honda Accord Hybrid (sans Navigation System; sadly, I couldn't afford it). So far, I love the car.

I'd just like to say thanks for the advice - I appreciate it, and it definately helped me to make my decision!

These newer Hyundais have a great reputation for reliability. I think you should check them out too.
