I purchased a Canon iP6000D. No chipped cartridges on this one at least. Prints are awesome! The printer will give a message about being out of ink while there's clearly more left, but it will happily print until it's physically empty no matter what

One thing I have noticed about Canon printers though: They are more sensetive about what photo paper can be used with good results. Kodak paper is useless in my canon printer, but prints with my older Epson printer looked very good on the same paper.

And ironically, Epson paper turns out awesome prints on my Canon printer. /twilightzone]
