1. Yes, I have indeed installed the update, a good couple of weeks ago now.
2. I have tried draining the battery to the point where the mac book pro enters deep sleep, then charged it back up again. This has not seemed to helped, the batter indicator drops about a % a minute, then stop sabout 50% for a while before dropping straight to around 26%. It then counts down from there, tho last night when it reached about 12% it suddenly shot back up to 56% and started from there.

Any ideas on what may be causing this?
regards
sabeau

Sounds like a bad battery to me...contact Apple for a warranty replacement.

Its not the best thing to run on battery power instead of wall power when given the choice, sure its true that you will get a greater number of cycles, but in my experience it doesn't even come close to compensating for the increased number of cycles I would go through.

Nice. I had never heard of coconutbattery before reading this thread. It says I'm at 100% (5414 mAh from original of 5200) with 86 cycles. I regularly allow my battery to drain completely and then recharge. (Sometimes up to a couple times per week.) This makes me happy.
