Ya jules doesn't that make you made that you can't have play dvd's threw os X? You must have two os's installed because that is one feature I couldn't live with out in a portable now.

Ya jules if you get a chance get a shot of your TiBook

I have a Ti with OSX and OS9 on the same partition. I keep it almost always in X.
I have a Pismo with OSX and OS9 on the same partition. I keep it almost always in 9.
I have never had a kernel panic, bad crash or horrible mishap with either set up.

Could someone please explain how they post these photos?

Go to post a message as you usually would and then when you reach the page where you put in your reply look on your left of the text field, it will say "UBB Code is ON" click on that link and scroll down until you see the instructions for putting in a new image.

Its that simple, hope to see your Tibook as well!

Alright, I present to you the worst possible picture (courtesy of a Kens Video Cam) of my TiBook in it's humble, college-student corner. Notice the matching silver panasonic phone, kensington mouse, aiwa cd player, and sony headphones... complete coincidence, I assure you. Alright... here it is:

The desktop picture I made myself from a series of 6 latin maps I found on some server... they should be on MacDesktops soon, and are of higher quality than those at mandolux (they are not identical, either).
Thanks Misha. Please let us know when they're up.
catman

P.S. Are they actaully 1152x768 or are they stretched?

The original image is actuall rather square; I just cropped out the bottom.

Well , only you have no way of telling what volume your PowerBook is now set at unless you open the sound control panel, which completely defeats the purpose of those keys in the first place

Ok I have a Ti here now ( ), and let me tell you, it is just beautiful... I have it on a table asleep near the G4's (I forgot to bring the power adapter home... haha, so I'm letting it sleep for a while till I need it), and its just... awesome.

My only gripe is it does get rather hot... and the DVD drive being at the front.

But what an awesome machine... its a 400MHz model btw, w/256 megs...

I'll get a pic if I can.

Cipher,

The reason the DVD drive is in front is to keep the heat sources in the back. This is a large problem with PC laptops. I used a 4000 dollar Gateway last year that scorched my palms. My Ti500 stays cool to the touch no matter how long I use it...

You know what I would love... if someone could post pics of their TiBook with them holding it and typing on it and "fondling" it etc. Ive not seen one in person and i have no idea of the scale of it or its size. Ta.

I'm writing this on my 4 day old tibook 500/512/20, which I am absolutely in love with! I would post a picture, but I don't have a digital camera yet.

I really like the "metallic foam" picture that came with it, but I just noticed that, unfortunately, it is the only picture included that is 1152x768! I was going to switch to one of the other "foam" pictures, but noticed they were all stretched and pixilated. Turns out they are only 800x600. It's too bad, because they are nice.

Not a big deal at all (on other macs I've had, I never even used any of the preinstalled pictures), but it's a shame that they didn't include appropriately sized images.

Ya some images were supposed to strech properly, some people have told me. But thats one downside to that rez. Otherwise its great to have all of that extra space.

Hey man, I have a 3 day old PB G4 500/512/20! It's absolutely awesome! I still have the default 'metallic foam' on mine. I plan to change the wallpaper as soon as I get Photoshop 6.0 on here. And as soon as I get a camera I'll take some pics and post them here!

tonton what kind of sleeve is that? Is it a sleeve that is made for the new TiBook only? It looks so cool, do you have a web site or link for it where I could take alook at one?

BTW what camera did you use to take those shots?\

Yeah, I still have it here... right now... exporting a movie in FCP while I play Total Annihilation on the Dual 500... and post on this one... haha, shall I straighten out my priorities now?

I'll try and get a camera.
Its not mine though... like, I don't own it. Same with the Dual 500 - they're just here while I do some video work and whatnot.

So, I'll try and get a pic while I have the three of them...
