I expect people that see my 'its CoDish' remark, to understand that its like CoD. Nothing more, nothing less.

No need to get so aggressive. Whats dumb for you may not be for others.

Sorry, just sick of everything being compared to CoD when it's either a hallmark of FPSs or just reality.

Some weekend notes:

• After some more play in the AC-130 I can definitely say it is not overpowered (In Conquest). I've seen it get taken down reallll fast. Oh and my biggest gripe? Just like with Choppers there are Jets that will suicide into the damn thing. It only takes 1/4th of the health but that's a significant chunk and annoying as ****. Doubly so, since the smart pilots already know where the blind spots are.

• Got up in a jet this weekend. I actually got to fly around for a few minutes before being harassed. I am amazingly terrible, but I did inflict a good amount of damage on an AC-130 (and took it down I think). My downfall was sad – I actually had a bead on another jet and was spraying him, inflicting what I imagine is minimal but noticeable damage when he banked right. I followed him and plowed right into my team's viper. I don't think he planned that but god does it burn. Lost opportunities.

• Jumped into a Squad Deathmatch game on the snowy mountains. sek, you'll have to do this with me. It's nothing but sniper city. People actively ignored the spawning tank destroyers as unimportant.

• The quads are quick but once they get up near top speed they become very skittish. On top of that, should you collide with something at those speed they explode, killing you. So, you know, careful.

• Speaking of quads, Bandar Desert is their biggest map and while I was ripping through the dunes on the Quad, I was reminded of driving on Sandtrap and was just awed by the immensity of the map. The great thing about these maps is you're more likely to hit environmental barriers than go our of bounds, meaning you never really lose that feeling of immersion. The only thing is I wish vehicles left tracks in the sand.

• Big maps = vehicles, so I've been back to playing engineer almost exclusively, like my first days. I finally took a break saturday to do some Metro and decided I'd work on my carbine kills. I ended up having one game where I killed around 6 people with my SMAW. It was delicious. I nailed the same guy two or three times. I felt like a gigantic prick.

• I also spent some times this weekend solo choppering. I can see why they buffed the rockets. The nice thing is with the AC-130 the jet tend to stay off your back more. That and maps are so wide-open they tend to dogfight each other more. I intend to spend more time in the air in this installment.

I love the mobile AA. With zoom its sooo easy to take down the AC-130. Fun shooting down the choppers as well. Not so good on other armoured vehicles though.

The Sprut is good, I don't rate the M1128 as much. Although I think that its better over rough terrain due to its wheels instead of a track. Sprut is faster though.

I'm still very shit in the jets, just cannot get the speed right. I haven't used the scout helis much previously but I'm now convinced that they're crap. Not fast enough, weakly armoured. You NEED an Eng in there with you to stay flying. If there's one sitting at spawn, I don't take it.

After behaving like a hooligan on the quads I killed myself hitting a curb. Now I try not to go at full speed everywhere. Amazing the gradient that they can climb.

My experience is that 99% of the 100 stars are playing Eng. It seems to be the best class in CQ for maps with aircraft. SMAW or RPG most of the time, but a good mix of repair tool and mines. EOD nowhere to be seen.

I've been shot down in a heli a few times by the AC-130. On CQ, I only ever seem to get in it just before it explodes. Played a few mins of Rush, attacking, and I was the main gunner. Easy to keep the other team away from an armed MCOM with an AC-130 on your side.

I like the new maps, but you can see that they're rehashes of existing stuff. And if you've spawned at home base, and there's no vehicles ....

So this is the reason the knife ****s up sometimes

For those that won't to click the link, apparently the game only supports one takedown animation at a time. Pretty weird and kinda mind-blowing.

Dunno what Dakar thinks, but after just a few days of the new maps, I got bored.

Even tried a bit of MW3 and was quickly pissed off by that. So I'm back on Skyrim (new character) until I get my copy of BL2.

I think they're pretty good. Took quite a few days before I even played Metro, and I was playing metro to start and finish every night before. It different from all the other maps (except Caspian and maybe Kharg), but isn't retarded like Firestorm.

Someone made a mod that removes the T2 filter form the game. Night and day difference.

Nice. Thinking harder and harder about a PC for the FPSes of next year TBH. Plus the possibility of mods of course.

Not sure if I'll make it on tonight, but I'll try.

Are you getting and/or have gotten that yet?

I got a few decent sized checks so I don't mind getting BF3 kitted out with all available DLC.

It took five games last night for sek and I to get comfortable (and finish 1-2 on the team). I wasn't half-bad in the heli once I got the controls down (my profile corrupted and I lost all my settings). Looking forward to doing Armored Kill with friends. Course, they adjusted a lot with the AC-130 since I last played.

I downloaded my 3 gigs of DLC last night (Armored Kill and Aftermath). Are you guys going to be on tonight? If not, I'll continue my week of Christmas n00b slaying on Halo 4.

Speaking of Halo 4, I saw Subie and Euthyphro playing it last night. I thought they were done with the franchise after playing Reach. It will be fun to see how long they stick with this game. I think they both gave up on Reach in less than a week.

I am really digging the Aftermath maps. Did some TDM on one I'd played once and opened up 13-0 and finished 35-5. I think I only got revived once maybe twice, as well. (Wreaked havoc with the 417)

Also on Armored Kill a "Mongoose" splatter feels better than a knife kill.

Forum Rumor: Battlefield 4 details leak from EA China [Up: Seemingly Real] - NeoGAF

Lasgana: BF4
Lasgana: Coming October 23rd, 2013
Lasgana: development just started, expected to be done in 1 yr [Nirolak's Note: Since this is the one likely to elicit the most "this is fake" notes, I feel I should elaborate. Given some later points (like already have an internal demo), this seems to refer to EA's normal two year development cycle of a one year pre-production cycle with ~30-40 people and then ballooning up to 150-300 people to make the game after most things are prototyped and planned out. Visceral, BioWare, and a fair number of publishers outside EA also operate this way since it allows you to have multiple projects without cyclical layoffs due to scaling down in pre-production and scaling up in production. For example, during the downtime between Bad Company 2 and Battlefield 3, DICE's spare staff worked on making Medal of Honor's multiplayer and helping to build Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit. As to what the bulk of DICE's staff worked on prior to this going into production, it's probably either a second project or, once again, other EA games.]
Lasgana: will be on pc, ps3, xbox360 and next gen consoles
Lasgana: will be one of the first games for next gen consoles
Lasgana: commander system comes back
Lasgana: profile can be linked with other devices like ipad
Lasgana: auto login, need internet all time, support cloud saves
Lasgana: easier to pickup the game, to take care of players from CoD
Lasgana: support body and voice control for this commander system
Lasgana: better battlelog integration and better stats reporting
Lasgana: supports video playback and sharing
Lasgana: have gem store for dlc and other stuff like that
Lasgana: 3 factions: russia, usa and china
Lasgana: can deploy female soliders
Lasgana: frostbite 2.0 engine
Lasgana: pc, ps4 and xbox 720 supports 64 player maps
Lasgana: 360 and ps3 will be less
Lasgana: pc, ps4 and 720 will provide 60 fps
Lasgana: already have a demo video internally within EA,
Lasgana: matching the quality of BF3 already
Lasgana: bf4 will use 80% of power of frostbite 2, wheras bf3 only 30-40%
Lasgana: modern background
Lasgana: i mean story background
64 players is an enticing proposition to upgrade.

Boo! Call me old fashion but I prefer the steeper learning curve of BF3. Let those crybabies continue to play CoD if they think it's too hard.

What confuses me is Commander mode is the exact opposite form what i understand.

I also wonder how they plan to make it easier to pick up. Can't really simplify vehicles, can you? There's less perks. So unless they reduce attachments and recoil, I don't see it.

Usually when playing 3rd person perspective games I pick a female character because if I'm gonna stare at someone ass for hours it's gonna be a woman's.
