I know a gay Christian pastor too... I also know several devout Christians who are not bothered by homosexuality, or even gay marriage.

As for the notion of insecurity, it's not that people like Salty make me feel insecure about my beliefs, or that I feel that they are chipping away at my personal beliefs. It's more of a sense of frustration, and wanting to convey the idea that this is entirely counter-productive and problem-ridden.

The advantage of the interweb is that if people REALLY frustrate you... and you REALLY don't want to hear what they have to say... you can scroll down. So ultimately you simply want me to change what I believe so that I can accommodate some other guy on the internet?

I was trying to help you add to future conversations in productive directions that other non-Christians could participate in. It is easy to ignore you, I can do that.

Non-Christians can participate in most discussions I have... short of going into an in-depth discussion of of parallels between the Moses and Jesus birth narratives they're probably not going to have too large of a handicap. I don't understand why everyone seems to want everyone else to cater to them in a conversation. It's a freaking conversation!

Bored at work...browsed google images...decided it was time for reckless abandon. I'm back to my sense now.
What were we talking about? Oh yeah, when will Salty come clean about his homosexual fixation? What's his angle? Is he just stirring up things now and then to slip in his christian values? Or, more likely, is he struggling with the idea that he's supposed to believe it's wrong and a sin and all that? It seems to me that he wouldn't throw a pile of naked, sweaty Abercrombie and Fitch models into Hell's furnace..and he's a little conflicted about it.

Superchicken, religion (at least in the Catholic church) is what we could call a "gay" profession like hairdressing or gay porn.
The nature of the job attracts gay men. You are required to care for people, to take a vow of celibacy, to listen to people's problems and offer advice, and to dress in flowing colourful gowns. It is the perfect place for a person who needs to balance their homosexual personality against their strong moral and religious convictions.
There is irony in the fact that while the Christian church is run by an inordinate ammount of closeted gays, it is also the institution that does the most to perpetuate homophobia.

Instead of just teasing and provoking him, why not actually tell him what it is he does that inspires this teasing? He does have feelings.

I'm not teasing him. I can honestly say I was simply thinking aloud.
I'm kind've weary of reading him talk about homosexuality in every other thread. Let's pop this zit already and move on. I want to hear about his thoughts on transvestitism and transexuality...but first let's deal with this one. Eventually I hope to find out what he thinks about CLONING gays or transsexuals.
Salty, if I've offended you I'm sorry. Just trying to clear the air so we can get past this discussion if possible.

Many of the HARD CORE Christians here are completely obsessed with homosexuality and MacNN's gay members.

I remember when AOL was first out. There was a gay chat room and a christian chat room. All the christians were in the gay room and all the gays were in the christian room. It was incredible and revolting all at the same time. These groups love giving each other grief.
MacNN seems like one big battleground for that crap.

Salty, IMHO I would not want you to give me or anyone else religious guidance with that air of sexual ambiguity that surrounds you.
You talk about homosexuality all the time, you deliberately grab everyone's attention with your fem ways, and then you preach to everyone about how sexual desires should not be dealt with honestly.
Nobody takes any of your advice about God and morality seriously, because you dance around the line of homosexuality and then tell everyone that it is not okay to cross that line. If being gay is the big sin that you imply it is (and you have implied this in many threads) then why do you make it a central part of your life?
You are either gay or straight, and until you can figure it out, don't preach to everybody about sexuality.

Oh ya and on side note, SuperChick, I think you should convert to Islam, that way you can still get a little mangina every now and again but you could write it off as an exercise in Infidel submission (assuming that you're on top, that is).
Then you could simply issue a fatwah to forgive yourself and condemn all other gays to hell.

Christ thank you. Oh and I would just like to point out that my gaydar went off on Superchick years ago and he even agreed to let me take him to a bear bar (back when he was fat).

Wow, do you really believe that SWF? You are seriously more deluded than I thought.
Again, we don't make condescending gay threads in the lounge.
You make condescending Christian threads in the lounge then say "I don't know why the Christians pick on me waaaaaaaaah"
Or
"They are teh stalking me!1111"
Here is a hint. No one buys it. No one.

I have a solution:
How about a contest to see who can go the longest without making a condescending remark?

Actually it's not ok for anyone, the bible says any form of sodomy is a sin. So, I suggest all those straight people having bumsex also repent daily.
In fact I suggest anyone who practices any form of sexual contact bar the missionary position, repent daily.
