agreed! except for the IS-F and RS4, but it would be a much better looking/handling/performing car than this new "SHO"

365hp in a 3500 lb car with AWD would net about a 13.0 second quarter mile...0.2 seconds faster than the IS-F. Even though quarter mile time isn't the be-all end-all of performance characteristics, it definition would put the Fusion in some close competition.

A twin turbo Fusion would be awesome, but it's not the right car for Ford right now. Ford needs to be seen as pushing efficiency, not high performance.

On another note I saw a little BMW 1-Series this morning with some giant discs up front, pushing on 95 via twin-turbo power.

The 135i is a good way to spend 35k.

This is a dumb idea. $38k, for a freaking taurus? Here's the main issue. Fords aren't worth anything. My friend just picked up a 2007 Fusion SE for $11,000. Now, just two years ago, this car cost over $22,000. So it loses 50% of the it's value, $11,000, in under two years. And you think people are going to pony up forty grand for it?

Good freakin' luck.

PS: This is what they should have made: http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/11/2...art-at-22-000/

Yes, because a single example is an excellent predictor of future resale values. You're posting the same crap here that you do over on AutoBlog, and it's still factually incorrect and wildly biased.

I don't use to like BMWs but they did a good job with the 1 Series Coupé… looks like a 2000 CS, a pity the incredibly boring dashboard.

They already have a Fusion. They can make a twin turbo if they want.

I love the 6 coupe and the new 550i is freakin awesome. The 3 is too small and the 7 is for rich snobs.

So are you annoyed or glad about Mr. Bangle had leaven BMW (and the car design world for that matter) ??

IMHO the 7 Series is the worst looking thing in the BMW range right now.

Yeah, but I don't really like the Mercedes S Class either. Those are just too snobby for me. Now the Audi S-8 is one sweet ride. Those look so much better than the 7 series and S Class.

But I think one of the nicest looking sedans from those three is the Mercedes CLS-55 AMG. I've seen a few around these parts and those are absolutely beautiful. Probably one of the nicest Mercedes has made, imho.

The CLS design was just ahead of its time, five years later most car makers are trying to play catch-up and failing miserably.

I think it resembles the Oldsmobile Aurora a bit. I test drove that car and thought it was a pile of ****. It had zero power for a V8. I was sorely saddened. It looked good, though.

LOL. I was having our Toyota serviced last month. It's an Auto-Mall type setup. Next door was their BMW shop. I went in and there was a brand new 2009 M5. The sticker was almost $90,000. I had to get permission to sit in it and lift the hood.

I will say one thing. When I closed the door and gripped the wheel the hair on my arms stood up. When I lifted the hood I was covered in goose-bumps.

I said thank you and returned to reality.
