You know, big as that thing is, I bet you it looks a lot smaller after we add 4 exits, the exchange mechanism (comfortably sized), and the stairs. With that kind of depth those stairs are going to take up a lot of space.

Oh most certainly, I can't count how many times a huge space I thought was oversized ended up being to small once everything was fitted in.
Seems like my rail runs through in an odd location too.

Yeah, I imagine all that stuff will be corrected as Blaze gets to work. Curious how this thing looks/works.

I started a new engineering world for prototyping things, all it has so far is the boat launcher and a passing rail I'm still working on, I mention this because there's a cow in perpetual motion on the rail. It runs smoother that way.

Cow train engineers. Or is he in the cowboose?
So, brewing is absolutely useless unless you have nether warts, it seems. :/

In both Blaze's and my nether safehouses there are small netherwart farms. Just remember they only grow when you are near them in the nether, so you might have to afk a bit. Just replant after harvesting.

Cool!
Any thoughts to building nether grinders? I've seen videos for pigmen, to get gold. And I have a stockpile of snowballs to use against fire creatures.

I could see creating a manual one, by aggroing them from an unreachable spot and them charging the wall below you which is equipped with laval blades.
Shame they no longer drop cooked pork.

Also a shame they're fire proof. What you do is use a sticky piston to smash their head till they suffocate. Personally I'm not going to build one.

Ack, you're right. I've seen them swimming lava.
Sounds like a ton of trouble.

The one I saw had pistons pushing them off a wall so they'd plummet to their doom. Not being able to use water to direct loot is a PITA though, this guy made a rail.
Also, I didn't know mobs wouldn't spawn on half-blocks, good to know.

You can get water in the nether by harvesting ice blocks with a pick with silk touch, then breaking the ice block in the nether.

Nope. That was a previously unexplored area. Weird.

I like it, so the button switches the track momentarily, then it switches back to the circle, or does the next person through have to switch it back?
Don't think we have to worry too much about bumping.
Last night I successfully finished the switch to turn my grinder on and off. The zombie noise when I wasn't grinding was annoying. Also now I can shut it off if I want to tweak it any more.
My house looks much less cave-like.
Any more supplies needed for the station? I'd love to help also but don't want to get in the way of the "vision".

It will switch back automatically.
The wiring is basically: (button1 or button2) => signal extender => powered rail. button2 => signal extender => track. There a little fiddling to do because of the N/W track orientation behavior.
The next update will include glowstone you can turn on and off via redstone so it will be trivial to put a light in with the spawner you can turn on and off.

Hmm if they're color coded (which is a good idea) should I move them off the support column? I can move the stopping point diagonally (to the left in the picture) and put them in the wall next to the post.
It leaves the center of the room open for the staircase / water fountain / topiary / etc.

I don't think they need to be moved. Perhaps the archway leading to each branch should also be color coded, or is that too much color.
I'd be curious how you did the switching, the s/e rule is working for me going outbound but if it's that simple then coming inbound it would be nice to have a loop/switch thing.

I was thinking rather large uses of color for each stop, so colored archways are right up my alley.

Put a wool stripes in the tunnel walls so it strobes as you go?
As for the station, 1 over the openings and the blocks for the buttons should be plenty, then upstairs we can make a directory.

Some weirdness going on over here.
Firstly, for the last couple of days, the Minecraft app takes forever to boot up to the splash screen. I deleted and re-installed, same thing.
Secondly, once the app boot up 'logging in' also take forever.
Thirdly, today it says cannot connect to Minecraft.net.

I just got through, cyclops was also saying that he had difficulty signing in to Minecraft.net today.
Must be a thing with their servers.

It took me 20 minutes to log in so I didn't log out again. Not sure if pointing my browser at login.minecraft.net just before logging in helped or not. I wish they would take 5 minutes from their charity challenge and kick the server. Wait the guy responsible for the server isn't even a coder.

Extended trip to the nether today, had about 2 stacks of glowstone blocks worth of dust, took a swim in lava. Lost new iron armor, new diamond pick (fortune, efficiency, unbreaking), diamond sword, diamond shovel, and enchanted bow (power 3).
Mostly I'm pissed I wasted that much glowstone. I did pioneer a new route that has more glowstone to be harvested, but next time I'll wait for a companion, and bring much less valuable stuff.

I'll build another station down the line close to Andi for yours or I need to rearrange for 2 per wall.

Oops missed the empty cart return signal for the green line. The only really hairy bit is the light grey were I OR all the buttons to trigger the launcher. After that it's just getting the right settings on the pulse length extenders. I'm gone try again but rotate it 45deg.

It would be great if I could get more than monosyllabic responses before I try and layout the wiring a third time. I know what the wiring needs to do it's just the routing of it and the cart returns.
This one lines up with Seks rail but doesn't look even close to symmetrical.
Much better.

I've been out of town and didn't see this til now, but it's looking great! With two spots per wall, lots of room for future expansion.

That is excellent.
Jens Bergensten @jeb_
Not doing up-side-down half-slabs right now, but maybe later. Next week will be bug-fixing week for a possible 1.2 release
