Really? I didn't really pay too much attention on this.....

Yeah right....used a single 450 until July and then bought in a second hand Dual 500...then a few weeks ago....got a brand new Dual Gig

But I don't think I will be moving to another machine until MWSF (next year)

Wow its been fun seeing everyones digital computing environments. I have often thought of starting a web site for just this very thing. Here is a pic of my old environment back in california:

And here is my new set-up in Oregon (a 325 sq ft. studio) I always say you should be able to take a nap at your computer in case you get sleepy or sit back like you are in a recliner, so this is how I set it up.

It's the PowerMate! C'mon, you have had to of heard of it by now. It can scroll through long pages with ease, great for volume control, you can make it throb in and out with the cool blue light (make it do that whenever you want), and has great OS X support.

While you do have an incredibly desirable hardware configuration, a wonderful monitor, and a great-looking desk, I am inclined to think your machine is going to have an incredibly short lifespan. Computers like the Power Mac can no longer be put into cabinets like those; today's CPU's put out too much heat. I would be mindful of your system temperatures.

Make sure your CPU doesn't go any higher than 135 degrees Fahrenheit. If your system is getting uncomfortably hot, you should look into giving it some breathing room in the rear.

If there's open space behind that compartment, which I bet there is, it's fine.

The G4 sucks in air through the back, however, so you must be very careful... it comes in through the top, thus you need the most ventillation there. I agree with sean here, for once, and plenty of bottom/back ventilation is important.

The hard drive is partially convection cooled... cool air rises through the bottom of the case and cools it off, the hot air gets sucked out the side fan which pushes it out the back and bottom areas, there are lots of side vents (between plastic, etc) so bottom/side ventillation is important.

Have some kind of opening behind your desk, so that it gets fresh air, and at least 2"-5" of space behind the desk.

I keep my machine on the floor, but it is well ventillated

I'm Still in Grade School (Year 12 *cough*)
I do not work and thus this was the best setup I could afford (me acts like the dude on the Simpsons who drives around in the VW beatle). The really funny thing is My monitor is bettor for playing games than any LCD monitor.

yeah, it's probably true, though I've been playing quake 3 at 125fps and such (normally 60-90fps), and havent seen any problems with my lcd vs a CRT.

btw: I'm still in grade school (year 9 *cough*), sorry for the rudeness, was just acting stupid as usual.

Again, my deepest apologies.. heck, that desk is NICELY set up

I wish my table was that high at the moment!

What you can't see in the picture because of the angle is the huge gap I have between my desk and the wall. So it's all good.

Does any one have any ideas to get digital sound out of their mac, if so how did you get audio out of it? I have a nice surround set up, but I was trying to find a way to get digital sound out of my desktop and laptop, any one got any ideas?

Would any one like to recomend a LCD screen that i could use with a pc i own, I want to get 2 of them and was wondering if any one had any suggestions proabaly 15" or 17" and they would need to be at least VGA, but DVI is better...

I use it in iMovie, and it works well in that. Otherwise, I use it for scrolling long docs, volume control, "back" in IE, "pause" in iTunes, as well as volume, etc..

It's very programmable, and it glows blue.

Just wondering, do you watch the cartoons or read the comics? If so, what langauge do you watch them in? I watch them in Chinese Cantonese and Mandarin, but I've seen it in Thai And Japanese too.

Both Japanese and Cantonese

Their TV shorts are much better (and funnier) than the long movies.

I once fell asleep under my desk because i was too lazy to go to my bed. My parents though I had been kidnapped or ran off or something and were freaking out. They finally saw my feet under there and kicked me really hard for scaring them. I thought it was quite funny.
