Speaking of cows, I've been thinking of making a similar milking machine to the Yogscast and just having it feed into a energy condenser because, well, what do I need milk for. Just want to make the cow milking version of the Matrix.

Just please use a pressure plate or something to keep it running so you actually have to be there. Building infinite EMC generators is one thing (because you can NEI in anything anyways), leaving high speed circuity running all the time is another.
The best one I've seen is the one using the Builder and a template of a chest full of red matter. You give it an empty chest and when it places it, its full of red matter. It becomes a game of how fast can you empty the chest.

Oh Sek if you're using a sorter inline, meaning you're feeding it from a pipe and not a chest then you don't need to send it a pulse.

I think it's the Redpower relay that automatically pushes out its contents into the tube network. If you dump, from the quarry for example, into that you're good to go. Or you can put a transposer or something in the ground and just throw stuff on the floor.

Meanwhile, back in Vanilla...
After a hiatus I'm back at in and just finished over 3km of rail to get from the village to my forest house in the South. I'm really enjoying the XP-from-mining, as I was able to make some nice tools while I went. Although getting a fortune/efficiency/unbreaking diamond pick after finishing the entire rail was kind of a kick in the nuts.

Did you connect it into the rail station? If so I can look into adding it to the circuitry. Though I think the whole setup needs to be redone due to the changes they made to the powered track months ago. Just haven't felt like working on it.

I ended up just outside of the rail station (there's a door in the purple corner), didn't want to disturb all of that.

Go ahead and connect it to any of the openings that currently dead end. As long as the tunnel goes straight for 4 or 5 blocks first then it will be okay. I see there's a nether portal in you house near spawn, do you want help pairing it with one on the nether?

May as well, I haven't done much in the Nether. A failed journey there is what lead to my southward Journey of Self-Rediscovery.

Just logged into the Vanilla server and took Laminar's incredibly long railway to the South. Server runs great and I see Laminar has a pretty sweet XP grinder set up in his distant lands.
Tekkit server appears to be down though?

I too ventured on Laminar's south rail. A long ways away! I think Laminar has discovered a few of the places I got lost in early mapmaking... Glad to see the Waystation getting turned into a railstation! Some of the really cool hills/cliffs a couple stops down seem familiar.
Nice zombie elevator grinder. Also I found your skelly grinder.
Laminar gets points for making a fun up and down coaster. You want help adding pause/stops so you don't have to pick up and move a cart?
Next stop for me: finding a suitably dark place to set off fireworks.

I need to spend some quality time there and stock up on arrows, I think I'm running low.

Firework machine complete! Cyclopse, I took most of your gunpowder, but still need more. Back to blaze's.
(stupid shift click means I accidentally made a whole bunch of plain rockets. )
Edit:
Blaze, the grinder gave a stack of gunpowder, and then ground to a crawl. No mobs spawning? I see you have tons o gunpowder, spare a stack or 4?

Blaze, I think some plain rockets got mixed in and triggered a crashing bug. Should have just thrown them away but I was saving them in case they became upgradeable later. Forgot there was a bug.

Either my computer is on the blitz (completely possible) or the Tekkit server is down.
Should I get the rubber chicken to swing over my computer, or is it the server?

The system is far from finished from the standpoint of adding more items to be sorted, but once the last two chests are assigned and the various extra space in the sorting machines filled I'll have just about everything covered.
You drop your inventory into the bronze chest in the front middle of that picture and the items are whisked away on a magical journey. To the left (out of frame) is a bronze chest that feeds into an incinerator, now making the clearing of an inventory of junk painless.
I'm also dismantling all my automated machines that relied on energy collectors, as it is more or less cheating, and opening up the top floor of the factory again. Once I add some basic machinery into the basement near my sorting machine I will be able to once again start up the building process and start fleshing out the town more.
Edit: Pulled back view of the sorting/crafting/storage area.

So something happened that I wanted to share.
The last two weeks I've been playing Tekkit Lite in Hardcore. I'm on my second world. The is time I started on a cowless island so I farmed some wheat and moved. I ended up on the edge of a jungle in a tree house. Started branch mining with a turtle. Then I hit a mineshaft. After I had some nano armor I started clearing the mine. Then I found this.
Now thats how you stop people from stealing books.
Here's how close it is.

Well I've added a few extra mods to it, upgrades for the turtles, the gravity armor upgrade for the quantum armor, and the portal gun mod. The later two I got too in a normal world. The nice thing is it has Logistics Pipes that I love but there are still a few bugs. Mostly IC2 related actually. I could convert the tekkit map over at anytime but you'd loose all the EE stuff completely and the buildcraft pipes will need replacing. I actually tried the FTB laucher because you can supposedly create you're own modpack but it doesn't actually do any of the work for you.

For whatever reason, I've spent most of my Minecraft time on the Vanilla server lately. I guess I was just yearning for the simple life for a bit. Plenty of projects out in Tekkit land, but nothing I do out there is very tech-heavy (unless you count railcraft). If you decide to upgrade to Tekkit Lite, I'm all for it. My only question would be "is railcraft part of tekkit lite' and if not can it be added? Me like the high speed rails...
Truth be told, I just roll with the punches on the Tekkit server. You could do whatever you want there and I'll adapt. (now if the giant floating dome project suddenly disappeared I'd probably mope a little, but that's expected ) Of course, if you start lobbing ICBMs at people, I will find a nice quiet mountain to hole myself up in...

Portal Gun?
<pause for internet searching...>
ahem... and how much do we need to bribe to get this on the tekkit server?
(actually, I've been playing old-school on the vanilla server. rather relaxing, in a "no, not there!!!!! darn creeper!" kinda way.)

It won't work on the current tekkie "classic". It works with Tekkit Lite, but there's no railcraft. But I'd have to make a zip probably for portal gun so I could add in railcraft too. It's not effortless though.

Im interested in any new content for our world(s)
Losing EE would be a huge blow, if nothing else the loss of Energy Condensors and Transmutation Tablets would make crafting a massive chore again. The rest I can live without.

If you have a backup you can recover them. There's an ip related issue with them I think.
I suggest those who care prep for a non EE world. There is a transmutation tablet equivalent but it only supports specific transmutations.

What manner of prep do you recommend?
We are also going to lose BC Pipes too right?
I'll sign on tonight and make the needed adjustments, like turning some of my Red Matter Furnaces into various blocks of ore.

I think the latest patch preserves the pipes otherwise its just issues importing. Theyre still available.
There's the jet pack from IC still. I've added the gravisuite pack to my single player but that's really expensive and power hungry.
Long range travel isn't a problem because, cycl0pse will love this, Mystcraft.

Any ETA on when you're going to update the server?
Edit: Also, a quick list of the changes/new mods you are adding would be nice so I can research the appropriate wikis.

I don't know what the ETA is. Its not a high priority for anyone is it?
Does anyone have any major issues or mod suggestions?
So far on my list:
Railcraft: Will have to try this
Portal Gun: just fun
Gravisuite: Has flying close to the ring
Misc Peripherals: Allows for elec charging of turtles
