yes, but it's getting confusing, trust vs knowing he's evil. Why the hell does Jack listen to him?
I'm hoping ben was unable to kill Penny, and Desmond broke his arm for his trouble. Althought it seems other islanders are punished for finding happiness after-island, so yes show, I can see you killing penny just to give Desmond more angst. And baby charlie can end up in the same orphanage that Aaron and Sun's baby is at.
I don't see what the big deal is about keeping aaron's location secret. If Kate gave him to someone other than Claire's mom, she deserves some suffering, and Jack, no questions, really? His eyes lit up like a puppy dogs just because she agreed to come back. He doesn't care about Aaron at all.
And I was shocked it took them until the plane TOOK OFF to wonder what would happen to the other passengers. Duh. At least hurley bought up all the seats he could.
The new chick marshall=anna lucia.
condolences guy= paolo.

Whidmore is turning into an interesting character. I'll not be surprised if he turns out to be the really good guy in the end.
But no, wait, that would suck.

I've always felt Ben is sort of the 'small rebel' evil and Widmore is the big established evil.. the only reason Ben is still going on is that he's damn smart (not to mention manipulative) and completely unscrupulous. Widmore is mostly going on because he's established, rich and powerful.
I agree they are probably equally evil - they're both very entertaining characteristics and can always make one wonder if they actually are the 'good guy'. For about 4 seconds

I loved it. Of course, Locke episodes have always been the best episodes of the show (along with Desmond, of course). Ben has been a world-class liar since we met him. He's great at it because he makes people want to trust him.
I'm not ready to call Widmore a "good guy" yet, but I think it's clear that Ben is just trying to replace Locke and take back leadership of the island. He volunteered to move the island for Locke and now he's done the off-island task Locke was assigned.
Loved the two instances of people admitting they recognized someone (Widmore to Locke and Locke to Abbadon). Loved them bringing up Helen again. Loved seeing Walt, although I expected him to be a little happier to see Locke.

I think Ben killed Locke because as Locke was talking, Ben realized there was a timeline screw-up and that Locke really did need to die like Christian and Richard said. I think it'll be turned around, and we'll find out Ben had to do it,

Ben needed Locke to get back to the island. Once he knew how (Hawking) he didn't need Locke anymore. Alive, at least.

I like Responsible!Sawyer. It's a shame he couldn't have a haircut to go with it but I'm sure that would have made a problem with filming flashbacks or they'd have to make a Sawyer wig, to which, hahahahaha. What are they going to do to kid!Ben when he shows up?

I apologize in advance here for not remembering (or knowing), but who does Horace's kid turn out to be?
Loved the scene between Sawyer and Richard too. Richard was kind of shock, but takes everything in stride.

We don't know. I heard elsewhere that maybe it's desmond?
Also, little red-haired girl daniel sees is apparently too old to be charlotte, maybe it's her sister.

I thought it was Charlotte, and that's why he said "Charlotte" when he saw her. Plus, I thought they were stuck in like '76 or something, which would make her the right age.

I believe they landed in '74 and its '77 once Jack, Kate, and Hurley arrives. I don't remember if they gave an age for Charlotte in '04, but the actress is younger than the 30 some she'd have to be if she was already alive in '74.

Another forum states that Charlotte's birthyear was revealed by ben as being 1979. Now, ben lies, but in that scene she doesn't deny it.
So in 1974 when Daniel sees a redhaired girl, it can't be her... or can it?
of course that same site also says the little girl is speaking Korean, so...

From another message board:
Locke and the others such as Ben are in present time, Jack, Kate and Hurly are in 1974 with Sawyer and crew.
After seeing the statue, smokie's house, and all the hieroglyphics I think the island is part of one lost Egyptian islands and Rupart Alpert is RA the egyptian god.
I think the statute is of Taweret, the egyptian god for protecting pregnancy and child birth.

Soooo ... why do they have to turn off the sonic fence to get through when ear-plugs apparently do the trick? Suddenly, all the effort they went through to get over the sonic fence when they first encountered it seems a little silly when all they really needed to do was cover their ears.

The sonic fence apparently has different strength settings. I guess earplugs work when it's only set to stun. Of course, earplugs are much more effective at blocking out sound than just covering your ears.
I'm thinking Horace's kid is Jacob (or Jacob reincarnated). After all, according to Locke's dream, it was Horace who originally built the cabin for himself and his wife Olivia (not this Amy).

You could see that when the lady punched in the code she opened up the box and hit a button inside. I'm guessing she was setting it to stun...

I thought about that, but I couldn't remember her actually punching anything in ... just looking like she was punching something and grabbing the ear-plugs. In any case, there seems to be some inconsistencies with the operation of the sonic fence, such as it not presenting any kind of barrier to Richard.

I'll buy the association of the statue with Taweret. We know the foot of the statue has four toes, which hippos do. The statue is apparently holding two Ankhs. Other visual cues are appropriate. It just looks like a hippo person on slimfast.

Of course not, Richard is like the Jesus of Lost island.
