Well, I bought myself a PS3 today. . . I never thought I'd do it, but with the price of the 360 premium or even the elite, at 400, and 480 respectively, and then another 200.00 for the HD-DVD drive, the PS3 just makes too much sense. So I picked up Resistance, Oblivion, and MLB 2k7. Are there any other must have titles for this thing?

True, but this is still massive news for 360 - Rockstar being so open to say the 360 version is the 'only complete experience' is a huge move, especially if that fact becomes common knowledge among gamers.. never underestimate the power of GTA

If you haven't played Ninja Gaiden on Xbox, pick up Ninja Gaiden Sigma (a great remake/expansion), but be warned, its the hardest freaking game you'll play in a while! - some people love motorstorm, but it's a bit light on modes and features. Apart from that, it's a pretty lean pack of decent games at the mo.
There's also Virtua Fighter 5 if you're a fighter fan (no online play tho), and Rainbow Six: Vegas is an excellent game (I've only got it on 360 but I hear the PS3 version is very close)

Check out GTA4 when it hits shelves, it's apparently much more convincing and impactive than prev versions, so whether you were a fan or not, it's def worth a look. I've always gotten a few hours in and been bored by prev GTA games, but every report I've heard says number 4 is SOAKED with atmosphere and detail, and feels a lot more realistic. Even non-GTA gamers are amazed and incredibly interested by the media, myself included.

No doubt GTA 4 will be a good game, everyone of them (even the PSP version) had a very good story...and sold like hotcakes. If I had to choose between getting GTA 4 for the 360 or the PS3, I would get it for my PS3 instead of my 4th 360. I dont trust the 360 anymore, even with the extended warranty, I plan to wait a week or so after PGR4 and Halo 3 comes out...see if any those games "bricks" the console.

I'm assuming you're in the States? It's strange, you guys seem to get it a lot worse than us in Aus... here, I don't know ANYONE personally who's lost a 360 to the 3 red lightsm, and I have quite a few friends with 360s... I'm still on my launch console (launch was later here of course), not a prob from day one... I wonder why??

Again for $50 million, why do you act like this is a surprise? Of course it's the complete experience. They were paid to make sure it was, and I'd expect no less.

Been thinking about this since i sold my Wii.... what would get me to invest in a PS3 ? the recent price cut has only brought the price down to a less outrageous amount, so keeping price aside.... i think to me, the PS3 has 2 main "gaming" factors that appeal to me....
-Factor 5 (Lair LOOKS great.... the playability looks a little complicated...but lets see, they havent disapppointed me so far)
-Shadow of the Collosus II (not yet announced, but if they announce a sequel, i see myself picking up a PS3+this game)
Cheers

Enjoy IGN: Gran Turismo 5 Screenshots, Wallpapers and Pics
I'm here at Comic-Con and I just got a chance to check out Drakes Fortune and this game Eye of Judgement. Wow! Drakes is a must for me over any game this year. Eye of Judgement is VERY impressive how it uses the Eye Toy. If you are into Magic: The Gathering this will blow you away. I never expected anything like this. Imagine Minority Report on a little bit smaller scale. Gametrailers.com - Eye of Judgement - E3 2007 Trailer

I've had a 360 since January and just got a PS3 this month. The PS3 and its interface are so beautiful, so elegant... in that aspect it blows away the 360. I find myself almost feeling like converting all my video to H.264 so it'll play on my PS3 instead of my Xbox. As far as games to look forward to on PS3, Killzone 2, Metal Gear Solid 4, and Gran Turismo 5 are all on their way in '08.

So my local Target had 3 Wii's in stock today, and I took the plunge. Great system, and Wii Sports tennis is actually pretty fun. I also picked up the component cables, and a few other games. . . Too bad not all the games actually fill the entire screen on my TV (super paper mario for one). This reminds me of the days of the PS2 underscan issue. . . Overall I'm happy, but I did expect more from a new system.

Damn. That's a lot of cars...
As of today Sony has announced the full Gran Turismo 5 car list. It consists of 10000 cars. At launch it will only have 340 cars while the others will be developed in the future. Polyphony Digital will also develop cars for individual clients. That means in the future we could have any car put into the game for a special price...
Polyphony Digital Shocks everyone with Gran Turismo 5's amazing car list!

We've been waiting soooo many years for damage in GT. If there's still no damage, it's just another reason for me to stick to Forza 2, apart from the (probable) big difference in visuals.

I heard rumors of damage modeling, but I never heard it confirmed, so I'm not terribly surprised.
Edit:
"Sorry about the GT5 Car List
On behalf of GTCenter eu, we would like to apologize for the GT5 car list, it had turned out that the list that was sent to us was a fake and is not provided by Sony, but rather a mere Wishlist."

They confirmed damage at one point, then scrapped it. I personally dont care, as when I drive I try NOT to crash.

I think the overriding point is for 'the REAL driving simulator' they're missing a huge part of real life.

I can see how some might feel that way, too each their own. I'm into the 'real DRIVING simulator, personally. That's the major for me, as I am good enough to keep my car on the road to worry about damage.

Exactly, crazy argument... even given your point of view, the beauty of detail in games is that even unusual or uncommon acts are depicted with depth and realism. That's what gives you a sense of immersion.
Damage modelling doesn't have to be perfect to be worth including, Polyphony's line on this is ridiculous... the damage modelling in Forza 2, for example, may not be aesthetically realistic (visual damage is nowhere near extreme enough), but it still enhances gameplay enormously

Rockstar announced yesterday that GTA IV is delayed until Q1 2008. I'm bummed, that was the title I was most looking forward to this year.

Because Sony needs great games on its console more than MS does. I did use the word small for a reason.

It's true that they need good games on the system, but I would think that exclusives would more important in convincing people to choose it over the 360, especially since the lack of downloadable content in GTA4 in particular might actually end up making the PS3 look bad relative to the 360.
