Yes. There was a reason I wrote it that way which I promptly forgot.
Can anyone explain the appeal of Richard Dawson? I mean, other than him being a handsome devil at one point.
What made me think of him was recalling my boyhood obsession with game shows, and how Family Feud never clicked for me.
In contrast, when I was 7, the answer to “what do you want to do when you grow up” was “design games for The Price is Right”.
While we’re explaining the appeal of Richard Dawson, feel free to also explain the appeal of Hogan’s Heroes.

I already talked about the bat bomb, and pigeon guided missile.
Today I learned about the chicken insulated nuclear mine.
The idea was to leave nuclear mines buried across the German countryside as a surprise for the Soviets should they successfully invade. The mines would have frozen in winter, so the obvious solution was proposed... encase them in a chicken coop. Like, duh.

Nah, it was wilder than that. From the wiki article, they considered placing chickens inside the bomb casing. With food and water to last a week. But ... the bombs were pressurized against tampering, so no airflow in or out. I don't think the chickens would last more than a few hours. A succession of fat candles seems like a better idea.
I wish the USA had a declassify policy after 30 years, like our Brit friends do. The government has to prove the need for continued secrecy, otherwise it gets published.
The policy over here seems to be: keep it secret until everyone important dies of old age. So no one gets embarrassed by their past actions.

Even though Wiki phrased it that way, I assumed a non chicken model wouldn’t have the space inside for chickens, so they’d have to build a special chicken model with the chicken habitat surrounding the mine.
However, Googling pictures, the mines are way roomier inside than I thought. I can buy there’s a week’s worth of air in them. The casing’s about the size of an Escalade.
Lots of fiddly bits right there for the chickens to peck at, though.

He was Corsican, born just after Corsica was ceded to France by the Republic of Genoa. So...Maybe conceived Genovese, but born French? Italy itself didn’t exist as “Italy” until decades after Napoleon’s death.

According to Wiki, which may be worthless, his father was a Tuscan, and his mother was Genoese. It also claims he considered himself Tuscan, and his birth name was Napoleone di Buonaparte.
Also, we consider Christopher Columbus to be Italian, no?
Edit: obligatory Bill Hicks routine.
“You’re American?”
“Well... my parents ****ed there, if that’s what you’re asking.”

Found out today that anybody who has some money available can get Greek citizenship by investment. Literally you just go, invest in a real estate for example a certain amount of money and get an official passport of a country. Just like that! Anybody can do it... Shock!

I hadn't known there used to be a smaller Statue of Liberty in Times Square.
Is anyone else thinking that "camera" looks like a Death Ray gun?

I bet they used a few of those cameras as bases for death ray gun props over the years.

Thanks to a small addition to December's enormous coronavirus relief and government funding bill, US intelligence agencies have 180 days (from when Trump signed the bill into law) to report what they know about UFOs to Congress.
