One of my favorite passtimes is exploring the Akihabara electronics district, and on some of my many adventures I have come across some things that can be pretty difficult to find elsewhere. I particularly like when I happen upon caches of iBook and PowerBook parts. These actually don't seem to be that common -- most of the parts you find in the shops are for outdated PC notebooks. But occasionally you come across some very interesting stuff. I have a tendency to want to buy everything I can get my hands on, thinking that it might come in handy at some point, but I know that I will never use the majority of these parts. So I thought it might be a good idea to make them available to others who might not be able to make it to Japan to go scrounging through all of the hundreds of little shops that make up Akihabara. These are great for replacing missing or broken parts, or for modification projects.
The following is a list of parts that I either have or can get. Since I don't have a huge store of these, it is on a first-come first-served basis, and I may run out at any time. Note that these are all used parts and so may have some scratches or imperfections (especially the easily-scratched iBook cases).
However, there shouldn't be anything too obvious or bad. I give no warranty of any kind on these parts. You will need to pay shipping from Japan, but if you order more than $100 or so I will pay shipping. I will also give discounts if you purchase in volume. Just ask.
Email any questions you may have to:
[email protected]. I prefer PayPal, since other methods of payment are difficult and or expensive when living overseas. I can have my family in the US accept money orders or cashier's checks, but that will of course take longer.

I also have a variety of keyboards. The ones that have been tested should function, and can be used as replacement parts. The ones that have not been test MAY work, and they MAY NOT. However, they have all of their keys and so can be used as a source of replacement keytops even if the electronics don't fuction. As far as I know, most of the Japanese key tops will work as replacements for an English keyboard, but some of the keys like space, etc are different sizes. The main alphabet keys and so forth are usable, although they have some cool Japanese characters on them. The numbers etc will have the Japanese punctuation over them, which differ from the English layout.
