Has not have.

Version 3 has been out sometime, actually. The latest is just going from 3.0.1 to 3.0.2, but still nice to know.

Yep, but this version supports powerbooks, ibooks and emacs released in April this year... diskwarrior has not worked with those even with version 3.0.1...

3.0.1 worked just fine with my iBook G4. It even allowed me to burn a new CD with 3.0.1 (going from version 2) on it.

Do you take the short bus to school?

Not to jump the thread here, but Alsoft is a company. A company is a singular entity. Singulars use has. Alsoft has...

Now, if you said the good folks at Alsoft have... you'd be correct.

so, why couldn't you have PM'd this information, rather than hijacking a thread?

And why didn't you send a pm asking the same thing?

Wow, wrong twice! British usage allows plurals for companies, as you might know. And if you click the link, you'd see
The Latest:

New DiskWarrior CD available to start up new 2004 eMac (USB 2.0), 2004 iBook, 2004 PowerBook, and dual 1.8 GHz and 2.0 GHz Power Mac G5 models.
Apparently they don't know if a new update is needed for the 2.5 GHz G5s, since they're not shipping. Now. In August.

Wow, sweet... that's cool that it's always worked with your ibook g4 (released last april I take it) as on Alsoft's own site they say diskwarrior won't boot the ibook models released earlier this year...

Maybe it's your turn to take a turn on the short-bus... in many evolutions of modern English, primarily British English, companies and other groups take verbs in the plural form.

In a British newspaper, they would report "Apple Have Released a New iPod" not "Apple Has Released a New iPod" as you would see in the US.

That still doesn't make it logical.

Why does it take Alsoft so long to release these updates? Four months is a long time to integrate a new version of OS X.

No, but it certainly makes Rankman's attempted insult backfire nicely.

So the 3.0.2 disk I received from Alsoft won't boot my new 2.5 dualie. Is it unique to me, or is it a well known issue? (I get the "you must restart" message...)

Typical case. It's not your fault, imagine that putting an original Mac OS X 10.3 into your dual 2.5Ghz G5.

It's not a case of an updated application but the need for an updated bootable system CD to deal with the most recent Macs.

You could always make a bootable system CD with BootCD and just copy your current version of DiskWarrior to it before burning.
