I ordered a Mini BTO (See sig) on 1/30/05. I was given the "Ship on or before 3/1/05" however yesterday I called Apple and a representative told me it was going to ship on the 2/16 by the latest.

This morning I get a email in my inbox about a update to my order, I thought for sure it was shipped and I was VERY happy but then I read the email and they pushed the "Ship on or before" date to 3/9/05!

Anyone else get theirs pushed back? I'm a little upset but oh well I guess, I still really want it so I guess i'll just have to wait.

Yeah, I ordered mine on January 21st. Shipment has now moved to OOB 3/9. I'm annoyed.

I just checked the Mac Mini site on Apple.com and it says "Shipping: 2-3 Weeks" opposed to the "3-4" that they had been having.

This isn't making much sense

I'm gonna give Apple a call this afternoon to check up on my order and see whats up.

I'll report back with details.

Guys, did you order the 1.25 GHz or 1.42 GHz mini ?
I have the feeling that the delays concern more the 1.25 GHz.

I ordered a 1.42, w/ SuperDrive and AP+BT. Originally it was OOB 3/2/05, I got the email that it is now OOB 3/9/02.

So I called them up, and they had no answers. They said the email was correct. So I asked if it was b/c I was educational, and she said "yes." So I went ot the EDU site, configured the same thing, and it says 2-3 weeks. The woman had no answer for that.

Sounds like there is Crazy demand for a Mac mini. They are hard to find anywhere at the moment. I know on Friday when I spoke to a friend of mine who worked for Apple at CompUSA he only had 1 left. I'm sure that one is gone already.

I ordered my Mac mini (1.4/512/80GB/BT-AX/SD) a while back and it had a ship date of "on or before 2/22/05" -- I got an email yesterday that it has been shipped. It should be here by Thursday or Friday. So I'm excited...

When has Apple not pushed back ship dates on a brand new product?

I don't think its so much that ists pushed back, that happens. The problem is, they are pushed to 3/9/05, which is over 4 weeks away. But the site, and when you call, say 2-3 weeks. By that logic, I could re-order, cancel my old order, and get it sooner!

At the same time the pushed back existing orders, they lowered the wait time on the site. Seems backwards to me!

you also have to take into consideration that it's a BTO config. Which are given pretty low shipping priority on the totem-pole....

I was at an Apple Retail Store this morning and while I was there they got a shipment of the 1.42GHz Mac mini's. I was going to grab one but found out they don't install the Airport or Bluetooth cards in the store, only ram. If you want Airport, Bluetooth or both you have to BTO it on the Apple Store site.

No ram upgrade? I'm assuming you're going to do it yourself?
