FYI:
A Windows demo for UT2K4 is available at http://www.unrealtournament.com/
Epic claimed that the Mac / Linux demos should follow suit very soon after the Win one... we'll see.
edit: To quote the man, Ryan Gordon, himself:
" - Demos will be available for all these platforms at roughly the same time as win32...but there might be a few hours of stagger time; I'm one guy doing all these ports. "

firstly, judge_fire, thanks for the info.
secondly, i wonder if "a few hours" means 4 or 5 hours or 24 or 48?

*Goes and grabs wife's Dell laptop*
It was required by her Master's program! She's a Mac user, too!

Haha. Is there any question?
I am really looking forward to Unreal 2004. It seems like they tried to incorporate much of the type of gameplay that has made Halo so popular. Vehicles, for one.
I can't wait for the game to be released officially. Hopefully by then I will have gotten a processor upgrade card and a new video card for my machine. Because without those two upgrades, I somehow doubt that my UT2004 experience would be much fun.

2003 runs superb on my Alubook at full 1400x900 res. Just drop it to 16 bit. Who cares about a little extra color. It's a shoot em up, not a Da Vinci oil.

my Ti 800 is pretty much unplayable even running at 640x480 and on the lowest settings. Hopefully the full version will be optimized better.

My QuickSilver runs it fairly choppily @ 1024x768x16bit. I haven't gone down to a lower resolution yet, but I imagine that it would help.

1280x1024 here. Smooth, like you say. On my PC. And fun. I might actually buy 2K4, I didn't buy 2K3. I really like the vehicles, and assault mode.
