Don't know about entourage, but my T3 is working well with Mail and iSync on 10.3.1.

my twin just got a t3. ITS AMAZING! he had an older palm (was a few years old) ... but this thing is amazing. it comes with documents to go, teh mp3 player (but requires a sd card to use).

the writing is easy, with graffti or the keyboard (on teh screen).

pictures ARE CRYSTAL CLEAR! pix from my digital camera (3.2 mp and taken at 1600 x 1200 were as good as if on teh computer)

hope that helps.

as for how it works with mac, not sure. wait till i get my ibook

I'm very pleased with my T3... I upgraded from a visor edge, and as the previous posted stated, the screen is amazing.

This all said, the E version is a much better value. You don't get bluetooth, or a dock, or the collapsable graffiti area, but it's also half price!

I am using a Palm T3 with 10.3.1. Works great. Syncs with Bluetooth to Chronos Organizer using Palm's Hotsync. However, I cannot seem to get T3 to be recognized by Palm Desktop installed in Virtual PC 6.0. (I want to use ThoughtManager Desktop, available only in Windows.)

Looking for better coordination with Palm PDA and Apple products. Chronos promises this.

I use Documents To Go to sync my Office X files and they are able to be viewed and edited on the handheld.

I just bought a Tungsten | T3 yesterday and I'm really enjoying it. For some reason it reminds me of my old Newton.

No problems with the T3 and 10.3.1. I've used iSync with no problems. The Bluetooth connection to my Powerbook, and Powermac works great too! I've been syncing and surfing the web via Bluetooth.

I'm on the verge of getting the T3. Went to the Apple Store here in LA to try out the iBook (great will get it soon) but then saw the T3. It actually was useable. Beautiful bright screen.

Having never used Bluetooth, what's it like surfing the web using Bluetooth and your ibook or powerbook? For those times when I'm on the road and either can use a landline/modem or Airport, thought of that as an option.

Is the connection decent, or slow?

Thanks.

JVB, what are the basic steps to get web-surfing via bluetooth working?

Any assistance would be appreciated!

The connection speed is fine for the type of device. It's not going to leave any scorch marks, but you're not going to be downloading large amounts of content since the device just isn't designed to display it.

Yeah, I tried those scripts and no Joy.

I created a new connection called BT to Mac, and configured it to use Bluetooth as instructed. But when I go to setup the Network in the Palm Prefs. it does not give me the option of using this new connection. I can only use the standard "unix" "AT&T" etc.

Most frustrating.

Cheers,

WJ.

Here's what I did:

1. Paired T3 with mac via Bluetooth Prefs on T3.
2. Created new connection on T3 via Connection Prefs.

New Connection Settings:

Name: BT Powerbook
Connect to: PC
Via: Bluetooth
Device: Powerbook (Name of your paired computer)

3. Created new network on T3 via Network Prefs.

New Network Settings:

Service: BT PAN
User Name:
Password: -Prompt-

Connection: BT Powerbook (Whatever you called it in step 3)

4. Click Details

Details Settings:

Connection Type: PPP
Idel timeout: Never
Query DSN: No
DNS: 10.0.1.1 (Whatever your DNS is)
IP Address: Automatic

That should do it for you! I hope it makes sense.

On another note, I just got avantgo working via bluetooth without my T3 reloading each time I sync with my mac (Nasty problem that seems to only affect mac users).

Well, I've got some progress thanks to your awesome tips;

1) I've setup the palm as per your advice.
2) Run the bluetooth script from Technohappymeal.
3) Opened Wep Pro.

And that's where I hit a snag. It sit's there in "requesting" status when trying to find a web-site (google, in this instance).

I'm not sure if it's something to do with the corporate network here, but I don't require a password or login to access the net or anything funny. I'll give this another go when I'm at home with a straight broadband connection.

: Update : As I type this, the palm returned an error message stating - Communications Error. Please check coverage, URL, and try again. [Comm. 1]

Any more suggestions?

Well, I am happy to report that I am writing this from my T3! Turns out I was using the wrong proxy settings, and I'm not sure that the DNS settings were correct.... Anyway, it works - so thanks for the assistance.

Now... any suggestions on some decent Palm optimised websites?

Cheers,

WJ.

I'm glad you managed to get up and running. As for Palm optimised websites, I don't know of any. If you find some, post them back here.

Will do... This experience has really just been an exercise in "I'm doing it because its COOL" rather than being a really useful feature - if i need to have my powerbook on and connected to a network anyway, I'm not going to waste my time browsing on the Palm

Still, I hope there are some cool Palm Only websites out there... I'll keep on looking.

Cheers,

WJ.

How do you get Mail to sync with the T3?

Great, thanks!

Back on topic, my T3 is working well with Panther, except for some reason I occasionally have to do a warm reset (press the up button at the same time as the reset in the back) to get HotSync to work.

I too am trying to get internet working on my palm T3. I've done everything from http://stevenf.com/mt/archives/000406.php and I ran the Applescript "Share Airport to Bluetooth" but when my Palm tries to connect i get an error.

ErrorPP timeout
(0x1231)

I looked my DNS up at the status page of my linksys router so that should be right.
