I'm kinda in the same boat as you, not edu but I ordered mine on Monday when I realized that I had things I wanted to do with my Friday night other than go to the Apple store and pick up Tiger

There wasn't any way to change the shipping, everyone got free shipping that was guaranteed to be delivered on Friday. The shipping date does say that it will ship on or before the 28th so I'm gonna take that to mean that they are prepared to ship some next day service. I'm not going to really start worrying until tomorrow night, although I was checking my order status every 10 minutes today

Shipped FedEx today. They don't have the tracking info, but I assume it'll be up tomorrow morning.

Do you think fedex will hold the package for another day even though its extremely close to my location?

The tracking website says that the package has left the "fedex origin" location. possible in route to my location, ~4 hours away in a car going 60mph.

How likely is it that it will arrive tomorrow?

Okay, checked just a bit ago and it FINALLY shipped. Haven't gotten a confirmation email yet. Was surprised it took them this long to ship it out, but I suspect it shipped earlier in the day and they had yet to update the system. Looks like there will be Tiger for me on Friday!

Mine has shipped (in UK).

However:

The expected delivery time for your order is 2 - 3 days.
Please note that these are business days and that this is an estimated lead-time only.

So it seems unlikely I'll get it before the Bank Holiday weekend.

Riddle me this: If Tiger has been launched, shipped, but is late to arrive, is it then legal to snag it off BT while waiting?

I Just got of the phone with a very nice lady from TNT/K&N in Basel. She said the papers already cleared customs and that they'd drop it off at my office tomorrow early in the morning. Judging by the way our lab's internal mail works, it could be pretty tight for the weekend Tiger install session�. But at least Apple is up to it. They're delivering on their promise. My lab's internal mail is another topic however...

I'll get in on the excitement too. Mine has shipped on the website, although I received no email notification. I've got a tracking number and everything...but these TNT UK tracking numbers never seem to work until after the item has been delivered. I guess I'll get mine on Tuesday.

biscuit, screw Apple's TNT tracking. It never worked for me either, that is, it normally updated to 'shipped' three days after I had received the parcel.

Go to this site: http://www.apecode.com/appletrack/

and enter the ten-digit shipping number Apple gave you (the one starting with 80...). Then, on the next page, click on the link. It should take you to a TNT page that actually works and gives pretty much real-time information on where your parcel is. If the TNT page doesn't show up, it's because TNT has received it from Apple yet, i.e. still being prepared for shipment.

AFTER A QUICK CALL WITH TNT:

They said that my delivery (and i guess all UK ones) will arrive in London This afternoon, i was told mines definetly out for shipping buisness hours tommorow!, Hope this calms all Uk orderers down, after some stupid rumours about after Bank Holiday.

TIGER HAS BEEN CAGED!!!!

When my copy of Tiger shipped on Wednesday, I just knew I would get it today since it shipped out of Tennessee and I live in Kentucky.

HOWEVER, when I checked my status thism morning, it says it is being HELD at the sort facility in Memphis!

I guess they are insuring that it will, in fact, arrive on Friday as promised and not one day earlier.

Well, I'm a little disappointed, but I suppose I will get more work done today this way and have the weekend for Tiger.

Thanks for the tip Simon. I had a go on that site but my tracking number is of the form 84XXXXXXXXX and not 80xxxxxxxx as they specify. It unsurprisingly comes out as unknown. Anyway it seems like stesteG5 has sorted us out with the info we wanted.

Unfortunately my supervisor has just scheduled a group meeting for tomorrow lunchtime, so I won't be able to wait in as planned

Though if you're suggesting that posting Apple's own estimated shipping time is a "stupid rumour", then your reaction seems a little overzealous, to say the least.

That's my fear now. At work tomorrow, delivery is scheduled for home. Shouldn't be a problem as my bird is in all day. But what's the betting it gets delivered when she's nipped to the shops or something?

I'd take the day off, but it's not like I'd be allowed to play with it. I'd just get harassed by my bird, kid & dogs. Strangely, my girlfriend doesn't seem that excited by the whole Tiger thing (Imagine!)

Heh. I'm kind of the reverse. Sorted out the whole delivery-to-work-address thing. But now looks like I'm going to take the day off for a long weekend break with family.

True, AMAZON UK 1 buisness day means 6 days in total, those guys need to sort there delivery out, Apple can do it international overnight, amazon have problems shipping from same country in 6!!!

Amazon UK seem very...changeable. I've heard of people getting stuff (books, mostly) a day or so before they were supposed to be available. Not in this case, however :-)

My status was "Preparing Shipment" all day yesterday, but apparently it was already en route. It's in my company mailroom waiting for me this morning.

Based on my and others' experience with their Tiger orders, Apple is apparently slow to update the order status, so don't take it at face value if yours says "Preparing Shipment".

Well, post back, but I bet it will. Mine said "preparing shipment" most of the day Wednesday, but it had really shipped about 6 a.m. California time. And 24 hours later (this morning) it's on the truck for delivery.

I'm thinking positively for you, but I bet it will be there.
