I used to use an app called Maxivista when I had my windows PCs to control 2 PCs from 1 keyboard and mouse - kinda like a software KVM. Until now I couldnt find a Mac alternattive, but I was searching and found Teleport (http://www.abyssoft.com/software/teleport/#), and it is so cool, and very easy to use, and bets of all its free! (and universal so I can use it with my Intel iMac and PPC iBook)

Check it out if you need this kinda setup, well worth using

Synergy does the same thing, but it's cross platform. It's available for Linux, Mac and Windows. I use it to share my mouse and keyboard between my PowerBook and my PC occasionally. It's a little harder to set up than Teleport looks to be, but cross-platform capability is really nice.

Ye i tired Synergy, but 1) I have no need for cross platform use (anymore!), and 2) I couldnt be bothered to mess around getting it to work, Teleport just worked, nice and easy, how software should be.

I thought I'd bump this because of the great forthcoming version of teleport. The new version allows the dragging of files and folders from one screen to the other:

Here's what I use at the office w/ teleport:

Left Set
Right Set

Essentially, this operates as one computer with a 5600x900-1200 display because teleport is so fast, with exception that you can't drag windows from one computer to the next. I also use MySync to sync the bookmarks, address books, calendars from one machine to the next, so it works like one system.
