Which would be better for running some PC games?

While I do realize that booting directly into Windows will give me more power for games, how much would I lose by just doing the latest version of Parallels?

(Me with my brand spanking new 2.4 Macbook Pro!)

Thanks oh gaming wizards.

Definitely bootcamp, not only will you get better performance but currently Parallels only supports up to DirectX 8.

Dual 2.66Ghz Xeon Woodrcrests // 8800GT 512MB // 30" Apple Cinema Display // 8GB RAM // Samsung Galaxy Nexus LTE // 64GB iPad LTE Verizon // Home Theater

Yeah, makes total sense. (I really want to give Half Life 2 a try)

But heres a massive question for you. Can I run boot camp AND parallels off the same install of XP? Or would I need to install a copy of XP for each of them? Parallels would come in handy every now and then at work me thinks.

The latest version of parallels can work from your bootcamp windows install. So you need only install Windows once via bootcamp, then install/configure parallels afterwards.
I found the whole thing surprisingly straightforward on the whole.

On the other hand, i also tried Crossover. Maybe its just me, but it didnt seem to work at all. And setup looked like a real pain..
The worst thing about having a failing memory is..... no, it's gone.
