Anyone else getting this? I pre-ordered my iPhone through Apple the day after the annoucement.

I assume they are holding it because it was on schedule to deliver the 18th, a day early. But I wanted to check if others have the issue...check your tracking info and let me know please.

Don't panic. Apple told the carrier to not deliver until the 19th that's all. Everyone's 3GS that has shipped will be delivered on the 19th - per Apple's instructions to the carrier.

Obviously there's a major difference in how AT&T is getting their phones. However, I'm taking this as meaning that my preorder WILL be fulfilled on Friday, so I'm still happy about it.

That is what happened to mine. It was scheduled for delivery today and then the exception was put on to hold delivery until Friday.

This is crap. I ordered mine the day of the announcement and mine still says "prepared for shipment". I also got an email that says 'We want to assure you that your iPhone 3G S will deliver on June 19th.'

At least it shows that Apple knows about the scary message...which should be a very good thing for you.

Well. I got that email when the website still said "order placed" or something. It changed to "prepared for shipment" after that. blabla. We'll see what happens.

I'm still at "Prepared for shipment." Makes me a little nervous.

I'm fully prepared to go stand in line on Friday morning and get one, just in case it doesn't arrive. And then return one if it does show up. Does that make me crazy? haha

6:43AM and mine is still "prepared for shipment"
if this thing is coming from China, I think I may be out of luck for the 19th.

That's exactly what I'm thinking. I'm still stuck at "Prepared for Shipment" and have yet to be charged for it.
I don't see how it can possibly get from China to Ohio by tomorrow. I'm calling Apple today. I ordered on the 10th so I figured mine would've shipped by now; especially since it seems a lot of people who ordered after that have received tracking numbers and such.

My phone, to be picked up at my local AT&T store, shows as being here in San Antonio as of very early this morning. I think everyone who's stressing over their phone's tracking information will be pleased tomorrow...

Why there are "exceptions," I really can't say, but I think it would behoove Apple to at least contact purchasers and tell them "this is why you got some screwy sounding tracking information..." Scaring customers is a Bad Thing.

I got my shipment notification too.

Check the fedex tracking if you were late to it like me, and I assume Andrew88088. Mine shows it's coming from Memphis, TN. I am surprised to see it not coming from China, but logistically it makes sense.
