from the gcc3 mailing list :
"The gcc3 project has been "closed" for Jaguar, meaning that at this point
there is almost no chance that there will be any further changes to the
compiler that ships with Jaguar. "gcc3-1151" is the tag.

Thanks to everybody for helping make this happen!

(The keen observer will notice some additional tags on the
fearless-kitty-branch. These are to fix some compiler bugs that are
serious, but not enough to hold up Jaguar. Although these are fixes
that you'll want, we don't yet have a publishable schedule for how
they're going to be made available in prebuilt binaries.)

Stan"

Stan shebs is head compiler at Apple. SO you can now grab a copy and see whats wrong with it. Then post your problems to the gcc3 mailing list : [email protected] to subscribe.

Do you know where I can get it? I'm having problems with the STL using the default gcc and switching to 3 might fix 'em. The version of 3 that shipped with the most recent dev tools doesn't <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="frown.gif" />

You'll need to use the following command in order to have the correct sources :
"cvs checkout -t gcc3-1151"
