I bought a used USR Sportster 56K with X2. It was not upgraded to v90 and I tought that I could do it easily in the internet.
However, the internet site only has an "Updater" that tries to connect to a non working number, a long distance call for almost anyone.
My question: Is there a way to update this modem or am I stuck with 33.6 forever?
Thank you all for any help.

I downloaded a program from USR and flashed the modem sometime ago and did not need to dial to anywhere. However, the program is for Windows only and I am not sure where to get it now.

Do you mean v. 34, not 33.6?

v34bis, of course I was talking about he protocol on one hand, and the speed in kbps in the other...
But lets not split hairs, Is there a way to upgrade the firmware? I searched the USR web site, but only thing I could find was the updater already mentioned.
A friend brought me a USR original CD with the same software. Darn!
