eBay: Apple iPhone (Cingular Wireless) New...Ready Now!!! (item 160121709180 end time May-27-07 15:20:57 PDT)

I like how he left the scissors in the picture that he used to cutout the picture of the iPhone and lay it on the Mighty Mouse box.

Why would you like that? Do you get pleasure in seeing someone conned out of $800? Even if they aren't as smart as you and make a mistake, I don't think we should laugh at someone who gets robbed by someone on ebay.

If you'd clicked your own link, you'd have seen an open box with an iPhone in it. Having said that, this does look fishy at best.

It's a paper iPhone.

Surely you are joking?

Never mind that it is obviously a paper cut-out: Why would an iPhone be, when turned on (in the box nonetheless), showing the exactly same time and screen as the picture on the box - which just happens to be the pr photo Apple have posted of it everywhere?

The buyer is a total dumbass, nonetheless. Buying a product that is not on sale by the manufacturer, with a crappy looking package with a scissor in the background is maybe not the brightest idea. And media coverage is so well on the iPhone that someone willing to pay 800$ for it really should know that it's not out in the wild yet.

Yeah that thing in the box looks totally realistic.

and, that fake package/phone was even posted here a while back, wasn't it?. so that makes it even worse!

Following the link to the auction goes to a page that says "This listing (160121709180) has been removed or is no longer available. Please make sure you entered the right item number."

The next line says, "If it was removed by eBay, consider it canceled."

I actually saw an episode of Judge Judy where a woman was sueing because she bought two new Nokia phones on eBay (for about $500)...but the seller sent her a photo of two Nokia phones instead. The seller actually went on TV and told Judge Judy that what she did wasn't illegal because she buried (somewhere in the lengthy description) the words "you are bidding on the photo only."

JJ tore her a new one.
